Robin?

Why isnt robin going to be in this movie? Or Batgirl for that matter. They were both in the last Batman movie. Can somebody please explain to me what is going on?

Just in terms of age, that makes sense - I'm pretty sure Christian Bale, the new Batman, is younger than any of the previous actors to have the role. I'm not entirely sure this one is even meant to be part of the old series - kind of like the previous four Batman movies weren't really sequels/prequels to the old Adam West Batman, this one isn't really a sequel/prequel to those four. I hope that makes sense. And I hope it's right :)

No, this is going to be another batman movie, and proably turn out as another series. SO in other words, like Clerk said, this ignores all previous movies.

This is an "orign film" with no ties to the previous BATMAN films directed by Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher. The first half of this film will feature a young Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) on his journey to become The Batman. This will be done through a series of flashbacks to Bruce's childhood on up to the point where he takes on the mantle of The Bat. At that point, the film will become an elaborate action adventure in which The Batman will be heavily featured. Villians include Dr. Jonathan Crane, Ra's Al Ghul, mob boss Falcone, and others. The movie will also feature a young Sgt. Jim Gordon, and of course, The Batman's trusty butler/partner, Alfred.

I thought those charactors and dialog is what really helped ruin the last two batman sequels. Robin was awful, and batgirl was worse...i'm glad they are out
