Do you usually buy on Tuesday?

Do you get dvds when they are first released (Tuesday) or do you just them whenever?

I usually buy dvds on Friday. That way I something to watch on the weekend. I also usually only go dvd shopping once a week. Buying all my dvds at once.

I have netflix .. so I get them whenever they are in the mail, but If it's a movie I want to own I'll get it the day it comes out.

If I really really really want it, I'll get it the day it comes out. It's not always the case though

I buy every tuesday. You end up saving a lot because they are on sale and you usually regret it later if you didnt buy it and you have to buy it for $20 or more.

I usually go on Tuesday, because of promtions and I am out by the stores on those days anyway. I am trying to cut down on my DVD buying now that I have started using Netflix I think ihave cut down a bit.

I find that the Walmart in town will lower their price about Thursday, in order to undercut Best Buy.

Only movies I really want will I buy on tuesday. If I really want a movie there is no way I will wait a week because the prices go back up 5+ dollars. The smaller release movies however get released with no sale. Like Cabin Fever was 18.99 at BB, usually the sale movies are 14.99, 15.99 then are 19.99 a week later.

Actually Erin, it's not only DVD's released on Tuesdays, they do the same thing with CD's as well. I used to work in retail (music store) and would always ask that same question and you know what the really fucked up thing is? No one could give me answer. I'd always get, "That's because Tuesday is new release day." Ok thanks for nothing.

Personally I like the Tuesday releases they give me something to look forward to on Tuesday. Actually now that I think of it Tuesday is a good movie day, that is also they day I go to the movies the most, (mainly to aviod annoying crowds).

Yes, I usually shop for DVD's on Tuesday. It's really the best day to purchase DVD's, really. Because there's all the first day or first week sales and discounts. The store I usually hit on Tuesdays is Best Buy. It seems like that store always have some great DVD sales on Tuesday. Just this last Tuesday, I bought the entire "El Mariachi" trilogy, along with the newly-released "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" for a special 1-week-only grand total of $25. That was a great buy! Anyway, other than Best Buy, I also try to check out Circuit City and Wal-Mart as well. But yeah, Tuesday is usually my day to go out and purchase some DVD's.... :D

Back in the day when I started collecting DVDs, I say collecting b/c it has become a hobby, I use to order them through buy.com. I use to get the movie the Friday or Monday before the movie even came out in stores. But there were to much and Bestbuy was always cheaper. Most of the time I get them on the day they come out or atleast that same week b/c it is cheaper. If you rent the movie at Blockbuster you rent it for like $5 then forget to take it back on time then get charged another $5. not worth the trouble, for me atleast.

I usually get mine on the weekends. When it comes to 'new' releases, I usually either buy them the week they come out or wait for them to go on sale used(CHEEEEEAP!). This is the system that works best for me.

The only time I'll get a DVD the day its released is if its cheap to pre-order online and it's dispatched before release date. If I was to go into a UK store and buy DVDs on release date I'd be paying about 3 times a price I'd consider reasonable.

I normally order from Amazon.com, and they usually end up coming Thursday-Saturday. For example, Open Range came in the mail today.

I go into a store (like Circuit City or Wal-Mart), pick up the DVD, see the price of $15 something and then put it down... GAh! What has come of me... I won't pay that much for a movie!!! :(

But, this Tuesday will be good!!!

I'm not that way about buying, but I am on renting.

I bought some local High School cheerleader's town discount card which lets me "rent one, get one free mon thru thurs".

That kicks ass. And I'm the first bastard to get the new movie, and keep them all salivating while I return it late.

i always buy the newer releases on Tuesdays, because usually you save 5-10 bucks on these sale prices!

Ill also wait sometimes on ones i want but dont really need right away!

I also have Netflix for the ones i just wanna rent.. but w/ those i dont really care when i get em!
