If that figure is correct, where does it rank among the biggest budgets of all time?

If that figure's correct it makes gof the biggest budgeted film ever by a long way. Titanic cost $200M. Spiderman 2 and Harry potter and the POA are both reportedly over $200M, but not by much.

What I'm trying to figure out is how on earth it's going to cost them that much.

Unless they're planning on actually building the entire Quidditch World Cup Stadium from scratch or something...

Well, you've got to pay Daniel Radcliffe something.

Though I wouldn't. ;)

I heard the budget was set at 175 million pounds. So whats that in U.S? Probably around 300 million? Anyone care to help.

Anyway that is a huge budget! I don't know why they would need that much. I'm guessing it's because of the tri-wizard matches. I can kinda begin to understand why they would need that much....there would be a lot of CGI shots, if they were to make a lot of the stuff out of CGI. I just have to say, if it does cost 300 million, and Mike Newell doesn't make a awesome film, there's a lot of moolah down the drain, and Warner Bros would be pissed.

Maybe the dragon will be a giant animatronic.

Wow, I can only hope that it is getting this budget! The fourth installment is definately one of the best in the series. Alot darker and alot more intense than the previous. I hope that they will find a way to include everything that is in the book since it is so much longer and holds alot more information than the first three.

Besides the first two are already fairly long and they are pretty short as books. What will they do when they go on to make book 5?

Maybe they should go LOTR style and do a theatricla and a extended cut of the film?

That's huge, but I do smell massive overspending. What single-film project needs a budget that big?

$200 million, I can buy that. $300 million?

Still, this will definitely ante up production values.
