Once Upon A Time In Mexico DVD Problem

Has anyone else had any problems with this disc? I play the movie without sub- titles, and when they start speaking spanish the sub-titles come on to translate. But then they stay on even when people are speaking english. It has done that with other movies too, Spy Game and the first release of Black Hawk Down.
I have to stop the movie and go to sub-titles and stop them but they keep coming back. Help please.

My DVD of it may have the same problem, but usually when it doesn't come on, the spanish characters haven't said much, so I doubt we're missing much

my copy works fine
