John Williams was the best of yesterday, and he's beginning to ht his trail out of the business, I would assume. Hans Zimmer is going to pick up the reins when Williams leaves.
Zimmer has created some of the most memorable scores in the last 15 years. Just listen to the theme from Crimson Tide, and you'll swear you've heard it in a dozen trailers.
I also like some of the guys who popped up in Zimmer's wake like Mark Mancina and Trevor Rabin, but Zimmer is the man.

Of course now I'm humming the theme from Gladiator. Perfect. Now I gotta listen to the CD.
Good stuff, that Gladiator soundtrack. Yay from me.

YAY. Excellent composer. He adds so much to a film that he scores. Up there with John Williams.
