Thanks to DVDfile.com

Rounding out today's news is the arrival of one of the most highly-requested TV on DVD titles, the short-lived cult favorite Freaks & Geeks: The Complete Series. Previously only available on the official website in a premium-priced limited edition box set ($119.95 via mail order), Sony Music will release a more affordable six-disc box set on April 6th. Featuring the complete series presented in its original 4:3 full screen aspect ratio, extras include the "Director's Cut" pilot episode, no less than 29 audio commentaries by the actors, writers, directors, network executives, parents of cast members, teachers in character and dedicated fans of the show, an additional 60 deleted scenes and outtakes with optional commentary, a Q&A with producer and writer Judd Apatow and illustrated by "extremely geeky photos," cast audition footage, and a 28-page booklet with an essay by creator Paul Feig. Retail will cost you $69.95. (Note that the Limited Edition box set available on the website includes two additional discs of extras, including three live "table reads," a one-hour Q&A with cast and crew at the Museum of Television & Radio, additional audition footage and deleted scenes, promos, guidance counselor "Jeff Rosso & Feedback" live in concert, the full original EPK, a script for an episode never shot, a music and photo gallery and easter eggs. It also includes an 80-page foil-stamped and embossed yearbook. Check out the official website at www.freaksandgeeks.com for more info.)

Since you didn't watch it, you should definitely blind buy it. The show blew me away! I didn't watch it when it was on, but I caught what I could of the re-runs in 2002 on either Fox Family or ABC Family, and I'm glad I did. I always thought the show would be dumb, so I never gave it a chance when it was on. But man, what a HUGE ass surprise! It's a fucking SHAME it got canned. It's just not fair! Anyway, like I said in this thread http://www.joblo.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69603 , I will DEFINITELY be buying it. It's worth the $$$.... I highly recommend anyone that hasn't seen it to pick it up and give it a shot, either by renting or blind buying it. I highly doubt you will be disappointed. GREAT fuckin' show!

How many episodes are there?

There were 18 episodes. I think the Special Edition is worthwhile to anyone who was a big fan of the series. It going to have two extra DVDs and an 80-page yearbook that also holds the discs.

If you are new to the series or in financial straits, the regular edition is still going to rock, though. I think it will be worth it!
