Seeing as golf season has started up again (Go Weir!), I thought this would be an appropriate poll to post right now.

I'm still torn between Happy Gilmore and Tin Cup, so I need more time to think.

I agree. Both of those are great. Happy Gilmore just barely eeks by though.

I'm also going to go with Happy Gilmore.

Just tap it it in, give it a tap tap tap a roo....

Gilmore (not the guitar player) is just a funny ass movie. Tin Cup is also damn good...Caddyshack is also right there. Happy gets my vote since I was born in 1977 and grew up on Sandler.

I must be showing my age... I'm going with Caddyshack.

Come on...where's the love for Caddyshack? I love Sandler and Happy Gilmore as much as the next guy, but the obvious best golf film of all time is Caddyshack.

Choosing anything else is like saying Teenwolf is a better basketball film than Hoosiers.

By the way anyone who votes for Caddyshack II will be hunted down and beaten to death with a putter.

Spalding Smails: This is good stuff. I got it from a Negro. You're probably high already and you don't even know it.

Al Czervik: [to his Asian companion] I hear this place is restricted, Wang, so don't tell 'em you're Jewish, okay?

Carl Spackler: This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.

Lacey Underall: My uncle says you've got a screw loose.
Ty Webb: Your uncle molests collies.

The Legend of Bagger Vance 9/10, an all time favorite.

Caddyshack and Happy Gilmore are both great as well.

You forgot the Trauma horror classic, Blades.

Oh this is no contest, Caddyshack of course. This is THE golf movie. Spaulding ruled!:D

Judge Smails: "Spaulding get dressed your playing golf."
Spaulding: "No I'm not grandpa I'm playing tennis"
Judge Smails: "You're playing golf and you're going to like it."
Spaulding: "What about my astmha?"
Judge Smails: "I'll give you astmha!"

Carl Spackler: So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consiousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Happy Gilmour that was such a funny movie.

"The Price is Wrong Bitch" I think that's how it went.

while I think Happy Gilmore was the better all around golfer (once he learned the short game) I think Tin Cup was the best golf movie.

Bagger Vance was pretty good too. There have actually been quite a few good gold movies. Nice list. Dorf on golf is another one, but I didn't find it very funny, and he was a lousy golfer anyways.

I chose not to vote because for me its Happy Gilmore and Caddyshack. Its too much of a tie for me to choose a single film.

I concure. Happy Gilmore, just like every other Adam Sandler "film" (excluding Punch-Drunk Love) is trash.

I love both Caddyshack and Happy Gilmore, but Caddyshack is better. I mean what other movie has Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield and Ted Knight in it. All four of these guys are funny as hell in this movie. Let's not forget about the "other" star of the movie-the gopher and Carl's obsession with him.

Rodney Dangerfield: "This is my friend Wang" "No offense".

"A father and his son are driving to the coast on a father/son trip one day when their car viers out of controll and crashes. Two ambalances come from two hospitals, one taking the boy to one hospital and the other taking the father to another hospital several miles away from the boys hospital.
In the boys hospital the boy is rushed into theatre for surgery and the doctor looks at the boy and says "I can't operate on this boy, he is my son". How is that possible?"

Happy Gilmore for me. One of the best comedies of all time.

I've never seen Caddyshack!

Carl: "People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living."
Ty: "People don't say that about you...as far as you know."

Caddyshack (8/10)

Do you know the answer?

The doctor is a woman...its the boy's mother(Proves something about Renee Russo's point about the notion that doctors can only be men...or something as I recall)

Anyway no contest...Caddyshack all the way!

Judge Smails: Do you mind, sir. I'm trying to tee off.
Al Czervik: I'll bet you a hundred bucks you slice it into the woods.
Judge Smails: Gambling is illegal at Bushwood sir, and I never slice.
Judge Smails: DAMN.
Al Czervik: OK, you can owe me.
Judge Smails: I owe you nothing.
