Seems like more and more celebrities are getting themselves into politics. I started this thread as a way for people to list which celebrities are endorsing (or even just supporting) which political figures. This can be American, British, Canadian, Australian, Martian, whatever.

Here are some to start off:

Michael Moore - Wes Clark for U.S. President (D)
Madonna - Wes Clark for U.S. President (D)
Martin Sheen - Howard Dean for U.S. President (D)
Rob Reiner - Howard Dean for U.S. President (D)
Moby - John Kerry for U.S. President (D)
Ashton Kutcher - John Edwards for U.S. President (D)
Britney Spears - supports George W. Bush (R)

One imbecile supports another, I suppose.

The interesting thing for me is that I don't particularly care who supports which candidate. It's not like I'm going to base my vote on what Britney, Madonna or anyone else says and I don't think there's any celebrity who I think "Gee, they're so smart that they must know a lot about politics!"

(I'd also be interested to know how many of these celebs actually go out and vote on election day.)

And I guess Tom Cruise supports Ross Perot?

I refuse to vote in the presidential elections because of the electoral college.

but if i did vote, I sure as hell wouldn't refer to a list of celeb endorsements.

The only reason she "supports" Bush is because she doesn't have the mental capabilities to be aware that there are other candidates to begin with.

Give Madonna a few minutes with her. She'll be singing the praises of Wes Clark faster then....... well, faster then a Vegas wedding and its subsequent divorce:D

RE:

Yeah, I also thought so. I don't think that Britney has any idea what kind of politics and ideology Bush is standing for. He is probably just "The hero who won the war" for her. Nothing wrong with that, but I doubt her opinion is very educated, or if she can name even one other possible presidential nominee from either party.

Another celebrity endorsement for Dubya, this time from Tammy Faye Messner (ne Bakker)...

George Bush? "Aaah! I would give anything in the world to meet that man," sighed Tammy, going rapidly from coquettish to kittenish. "I just want to give him the biggest hug and say, 'Thank you. Thank you for protecting us.' I guess I like him 'cause he's so normal--just like us! And because he's soooo cute. I am a Republican all my life!"

So anybody who thinks different is an imbecile?

God, I'd better run a spell check.

Grebdron,
I hope you don't think I was calling anyone an imbecile. I was responding to a few earlier comments made about Britney Spears being called an imbecile and that she is supporting Dubya. I simply named a few other people who are supporting Bush who I respect a lot.

My mistake, Lynn. I speed read your post, and got the wrong impression.

I personally don't respect Bush much, but I don't think that anybody who supports him is automatically an imbecile.

Just misinformed.;)

It's all good, Lynn.

I haven't heard a peep from a single independent candidate. Anyone know if any celebs are endorsing an independent candidate? Hell, are there any independents running? They can't be any worse than the ones we've seen so far from the big two.

Grebdron,
I appreciate that you posted back to let me know you understood the comment. I personally respect Bush but I appreciate that a lot of people hate him (After all, I felt the same way about Clinton so who am I to criticize?) I just want to speak up for Bush when everyone else is against him. :)
