Silly Me, I just learned from watching the Boogie Nights DVD commentary that actor Ricky Jay is a well known magician. From the movies that I have seen him in his role as Kurt in BN stands out as the best one IMO.

Very naturalistic and talented actor. I've loved him in everything I've seen him in. Great voice too!
