Does anyone out there remember this little shlocker from the mid 80's .
It looked awful , which is why I've never seen it . All I can remember is seeing the trailer at the cinema and that it featured some nasty little critters .
I'm asking because I have'nt seen or heard of it since ...comments ?

god, I wanted to when it was out for the simple fact of liking the title, still haven't seen it. Probably would with a bunch of friends and some badn food and a couple beers as I'm sure it sucks big time.

I've seen it. It is a weird, cheesy, and fairly gory little horror gem. One of the many horror films to come out in 1981 when the horror genre was just bursting.

Ive heard some good things about it, like its a hard to find rare gem of a b-flick but I havent seen it in any of my local video clubs.

The only good thing about THE BOOGENS is that Anne-Marie Martin (Wendy from PROM NIGHT) plays a pivotal supporting role in it...otherwise, total junk. The title creatures look like something a Kindergarten art class would create!

Did see the Boogens a few years back. It's really only so-so; I liked the idea of "evil lurking in an old mineshaft", and the locale in the winter they filmed at was very scenic. My main complaint; a dog that was in the film that they tried to use for comedy relief one too many times...very annoying. But overall, nothing bad, nothing special.

This movie was on the Independent Film Channel this past week as part of a horror line-up (that included, My Bloody Valentine, Slumber Massacre Party and April Fool's Day).
It was like a dream come true! How did ya'll miss this?!?!
The Boogens was hilarious.... when you actually get to see what they look like at the end (a turtle shell with tentacles and teeth)... too funny! It's almost like that side-splitting hilarious thing that showed up at the end of "Blood Beach".
Man I miss 80's horror movies so much...

This movie actually gets good reviews on Amazon. Apparently, Stephen King also recommends it.

Definitely worth checking out by the sounds of it. DVD won't be far away. Here's hoping.

I saw 'the Boogens' when it was initially released to theaters back in 1982. All that build up and for what??
What was the fucking payoff??
Oh yeah, pathetic scaly giant turtle like creatures with sharp teeth.... the fucking agony of having to sit through this is still fresh in my memory! FUCKING let down!!
What a fucking waste of 95 minutes that could have been better spent rearranging my sock drawer on a friday night!!!!
The Boogens Director James L. Conway and Writer's Thomas C. Chapman & Jim Kouf should be thrown screaming from a helicopter for this over-hyped pool of steaming vomit...

Watched this last night and I while I was expecting it to be a shitfest going from the title it ended up being really really fun, why I'm not so sure, the acting is pretty good and the direction isn't that bad but nothing really happens for the first half and then when the creatures appear they look rather silly. I laughed quite a bit during it and it was just a lot of fun to watch :D.
