Yo Yo YO
Hey, all. With the recent new of the GI Joe movie being developed, it was only a matter of time before fantasy casting started playing out. Well, a friend of mine and I were actually on the eve of sitting down to write out the first draft of our own GI Joe movie when this news came out.
Below is the listing of fantasy casting we came up with. Some are just too perfect. Some are a stretch.
THE JOES:
Duke - Neal McDonough (Minority Report, Timeline)
Flint - Brian Van Holt (Basic, Confidence)
Scarlett - Milla Jovovich (Fifth Element, Resident Evil)
Snake Eyes - Rick Yune (Fast and the Furious, Die Another Day - I know you all would want Jet Li, but this is more realistic - plus Rick Yune could kick Jet's scrawny ace)
Gung-Ho - Jason Statham (Snatch, The Transporter)
Roadblock - Mongo Brownlee (the most muscular of the three twins in Me, Myself, and Irene)
Wild Bill - Leo Geter (the radio DJ in Halloween 6)
Lady Jay - Maggie Gyllenhaal (Secretary, Mona Lisa Smile - this was a cameo my friend and I threw in at the end of the movie)
COBRA:
Cobra Commander - Willem Dafoe (Last Temptation of Christ, Shadow of the Vampire - We'd never have to see his face, but you know he's got the voice)
Destro - Vin Diesel (Fast and the Furious, Pitch Black - I know you're all groaning, but it could be badass - again we'd never have to see his face)
Baroness - Monica Bellucci (Tears of the Sun, Matrix Reloaded - how dead-on is she?)
Storm Shadow - Ray Park (Phantom Menace, X-Men - It'd be a tight fight sequence between him and Yune)
Zartan - Sean Bean (Goldeneye, Fellowship of the Ring - another stretch, but he could look the part)
Zarana - Pink (Just compare their pictures)
Dr. Mindbender - Jared Harris (Lost in Space, Mr. Deeds)
Tomax/Xamot - Vincent Cassell (The Messenger, Irreversible, Blueberry - Also invisioned as a cameo at or near the end - PS. Cassell is a friggin' God. Not only is he a badass actor, he gets to bone Monica)
That's my fantasy casting pics. Let me know what you think.

Gotta tell ya...that's a pretty impressive line up. I heard about the live movie last week and it does sound promising. I loved G.I. JOE growing up and I'm looking forward to this one.
Here's hoping they do a respectable job.

Thanks, Bobajoe.
So, anyone else have any ideas as to who should play the GI Joe characters?

Jennifer Garner is a nice choice for Scarlett; we know from Daredevil she can kick the ass. She's got the hot, redhead look.

Not just Daredevil but Alias too. As awsome as she was in Daredevil, and believe I was the only campaigning for her to get nominated for best actress, she is even more awsome on that GREAT, KICK ASS show!

Check out that link, XCoRyX. There's also a link to IGN that should have the official news piece.

Haha well for the leader part, I don't really know much about GI Joe, but I just figure Tommy Lee fits the part well.

I guess Tommy Lee could pull it off as Cobra Commander. He could revisit the character he played in Under Siege with a little Two Face thrown in for good measure.
I still say Willem as CC.

COBRALALALALALALALALALALA!!!!!
God, I hope they don't decide to include Serpentor and those those other flakes from GI Joe: The Movie.
I swear if they cast Michael Biehn as Golobulus and Vinnie Jones as Nemesis Enforcer, I'm gonna scream.

Hugo Weaving as Cobra Commander? He's got real deep voice for a character who spent most of the GI Joe series whining

Anyway... I just hope the casting doesn't turn into some hollywood star explosion and dear god... if Affleck or a pop singer is involved... I'm going to kill myself.

The only acceptable "pop" singer is in the role of Zarana. There is no better looking chick to play that part than Pink.

Hello all. New to this forum. I'm a pretty big Joe fan so here's my 2 cents on casting. For some reason I see the Joes/Cobras more in their late 20s if not early 30s with some of the veterans being a bit older. So I don't know about Paul Walker and Jennifer Garner types. And also, from the comics I think Snake Eyes is a white guy. They can cast any race for any character for all I care; just some info in case some were confused. In fact, I always thought it'd be more interesting if SE was Japanese as well so there could be rumors about SE and Storm Shadow being actual brothers. Anyway, I'm rambling.
Hawk - Robert Redford
Duke - Bruce Willis/Michael Biehn (I just see one of them for some reason)
Flint - Hugh Jackman
Lady Jaye - Ashley Judd
Scarlett - Angelina Jolie (where have I seen her as a redhead?)
Snake Eyes - Rick Yune/Christian Bale (respectively)
Stalker - Wesley Snipes (got the thick Stalker mustache too)
Roadblock - Michael Clarke Duncan
Shipwreck - John Leguizamo (needs to grow a beard)
Spirit - Eric Schweig (Last of the Mohicans, not an extra either)
Lifeline - Jeremy Davies (Saving Private Ryan)
Quick Kick - Will Yun Lee (Witchblade)
Jinx - Kelly Hu (X2 and super-fine)
Cobra Commander - Gary Oldman (there's nothing he can't do... well maybe he can't be roadblock)
Destro - Ralph Fiennes
Baroness - Famke Jansen
Major Bludd - Cliff Curtis (Whale Rider, Training Day)
Storm Shadow - Sung Kang (Better Luck Tomorrow, got the bad ass look)
Scrap-Iron - Michael Wincott (The Crow, that voice says evil)
Zartan - Val Kilmer
Zarana - Pink (stole that from someone else who said it)
Zandar - Eric Bana (The Hulk)
Dreadnocks - Bon Jovi (Joke... or is it? Jon Bon as Buzzer, Richie as Torch?)
Tomax & Xamot - Dougray Scott (Mission Impossible 2)
JUGGLERS:
Clint Eastwood
Christopher Walken
Morgan Freeman
Edward James Olmos
John Malkovich
Brian Cox
Ben Kingsley
Yaphet Kotto
(ok, i think there are only 7 of them but I'm having too much fun)
Anyone else got more?
Boba Joe
