A new Coen movie coming in March - I saw the trailer on E! a couple of days ago, and I thought it looked hilarious. Tom Hanks, Irma P. Hall, and Marlon Wayans - I didn't really understand what was going on or what year it was. There is a heist and living in an old lady's house, but other than that it seem to be this crazy comedy. It looks good, and I'm excited to see it.

It's a remake of the 1955 dark comedy with Alec Guiness. Hanks is taking over his part, but, if you get a chance to see it, you will see Guiness at his creepiest. This was also Peter Sellers' first movie.

HOpefully the Coen's will keep the new one faithful to the original. If so, look for the film to get extremely dark a la Very Bad Things.

It's about time the Coen's and Hanks worked together.

This movie is going to be amazing! The Coen's have never failed before, why should they now?

This looks really smart and funny.

I'll check this out.

I caught the trailer on Superbowl....

Though Irma P. Hall wasnt she the mother of Martin Lawrence in Nothing To Lose who keeps slapping Lawrence? WELL, Hall slapping Wayans still made me laugh though... :D

And Tom Hanks looks VERY different in character.

looks great. the ad looked smart and funny, but the trailer has great quotes

hanks "we have a complicated situation"
wayans walking up stairs with a gun "well i know how to decomplicate it"

hanks"we must all have waffles forthwith"

old lady "no hippity hop language, this is a christian home"

cant wait to see it, AND I LOVE HANKS LAUGH

WWWWHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I must be the only person who doesn't think this looks much like a Coen movie. I am excited that Tom Hanks is in the cast, he looks halarious, I also do like his laugh. But Marlon Wayans?...in my opinion, that doesn't seem like the sort of actor who their brand of comedy mixes well with. He's mostly known for racial comedy and stereotypical humor. I just can't compare Raizing Arizona and Scary Movie. But i won't be too critical before i see the movie, so i will all see you in the theater in march.

My first reaction upon seeing this trailer was, WTF?

And yet, 28 hours later, that remains my reaction. Why, exactly? I dunno...

Tom Hanks and Marlon Wayans together, on sreen, maybe...

I totally agree. The film looks decent, and Tom Hanks looks hilarious (and relatively un-tom hanks like), but I thought Wayans really clashed, at least in the trailer. His comedy style didn't seem to fit remotely with the aura of the rest of the film.

But I'll probably see it anyway, Tom Hanks is usually worth watching.

Coen brothers movies are sometimes difficult to capture in a 2 minute trailer - most of the jokes in the Big Lebowski wouldn't have been as funny in the trailer.

The point is with coen bros and Hanks together - it would be difficult to make this movie bad.

I'm glad we get another coen bros. movie so soon

I'm not much of a fan of remakes, but this one dosen't look half bad and it is a Coen Brothers movie with Tom Hanks and anything with Mr.Hanks in is worth a look.

None of the Coens trailers have been good. I expect nothing but another classic, I mean it is Tom Hanks in a Coen brothers movie, with a Cajun accent to boot! Sign me up. Oh did I mention they're their the best filmmakers in the business?

True, but he took an even bigger risk in Requiem for a Dream, a proverbial non-comedy, a serious dramatic role, and acquitted himself well in it. After all, Frances McDormand wouldn't be the first person you think of to play a Minnesota cop, and win an oscar for it

Yeah, I didn't really think of his role in Requiem, I enjoyed that movie, but when he was acting i still couldn't stop thinking of his other performances. But i will stop being judgemental. :D

Lets not be too judgemental on Marlon Wayans. he was quite good in Reuiem for one thing.

Another thing I hope this does turn into another lets-hate-Kutcher bandwagon excpet its lets-hate-wayans badnwagon

Tom Hanks and the Coen Brothers?

A winning combination, if you ask me!

I agree with everything you've said here. Coen brothers movies are so amazingly rich that you can't express the levels of humor that are present throughout the films they make. You cannot capture Coen magic in a 4 minute bottle.

You must not have seen INTOLERABLE CRUELTY. There was one funny scene in the entire movie. Towards the end, the one involving a hitman - that was it. A big waste of time. Even the beautiful Catherine got boring to look at.

I cringed at the trailer. And, its not just Marlon Wayons. This movie reaks of the word, "bad" all over it. This will be Tom Hanks's first bad movie in a long time.

I'm just glad Hanks is finally getting back into comedy.
