Blind buys are often rewarding, but every now and then, you pick up a film like Phobic. It's a shot-on-DV "thriller" that punishes the viewer with miserable acting, bottomless plot holes, and exasperating characters. How does a sociopath pick off entire families over a period of several months in broad daylight? Better yet, how does a sociopath jump from a roof to a front yard to a living room and back to the front yard in less than a minute without making so much as a faint clatter or a soft thud? Ugh, Phobic has "student film" written all over it. I nearly hit eject prematurely, which is something that I've only done twice in my entire life (no, that's not a double entendre). With only a minatory score and studied camerawork serving as pros, I suggest that you avoid this flick at all costs.

I just saw this flick in a Pawn Shop and was tempted to get it but couldn’t part with the two dollars. Looking at the back cover and seeing how cheap those movie stills were was the finishing touch and I got the hell out of there. Flashbacks of that terrible movie Drive-in hit me. It seems I didn’t miss much.

These are the worst kinds of flicks, pedestrain psycho-slashers...Ugh. Two dollars wouldn't be worth it.

You made the right decision. I can usually recommend any movie to a certain type of movie fan, but Phobic is for masochists only. Okay, I suppose that masochists are a certain type of movie fan, but you get the idea.
