Hey all. I'm back with my summary of the month in horror movies, the first one of the new year. I didn't see terribly too many horror flicks over the course of January, but here are the ones I did catch, on a **** scale...

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT - *** 1/2
VERSUS - ***
TREMORS 4: THE LEGEND BEGINS - ***
EYES OF LAURA MARS - ** 1/2
ICHI THE KILLER - ** 1/2
BEYOND RE-ANIMATOR - ** 1/2
DR. GIGGLES - **
HOUSE OF THE DEAD - * 1/2

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT was the month's biggest surprise for me, a decent-looking horror/thriller that turned out to be a dark, depressing, and thoughtful motion picture. HOUSE OF THE DEAD was hilariously awful to the core.

I caught Underworld during its theatrical run, but I didn't see the ending until just recently. All in all, a decent month. There were more misses than hits, but it's certainly a diverse batch.
