So I just saw this twice since yesterday. The theatrical cut and the extended version. I loved it.

BUT! Did they really have to flashback through the murders at the end? I mean, at the shot of Timmy standing over Paris, it's pretty obvious that it was him.

Second, when the judge or whoever was flipping through Malcolm Rivers's diaries, he came upon a page full of the name "Timmy York" Wouldn't he have made some sort of inquiry as to who timmy is? Malcolm's lawyer talked about the destruction of ten personalities.

Then again, the other personalites thought timmy was dead, so why wouldn't the people in the hearing?

*spoilers*

timmy was one of the ten personalities malcolm's lawyer mentioned...malcolm wasn't considered one of the personalities that was being killed off:

1) alice

2) alice's husband (i can't remember his name)

3) timmy

4) paris

5) larry

6) rhodes

7) gary busey's character (the convict guy)

8) ed

9) jenny

10) lou

that's why they didn't ask who timmy was...then the jury just presumed he was killed in the explosion, like everybody else did

in addition, "malcolm" was acting like paris at the end of the movie, right before timmy killed her. so malcolm's personality doesn't really exist, he was paris, then became timmy when timmy killed off paris. malcolm didn't really have a personality of his own.

hope this helps!

"We just witnessed the destruction of 10 personalities."

so timmy was the one that was left.

what i can't remember. did we see that page before or after the explosion?

Also! I thought of Timmy killing Paris being Malcolm wanting to kill his own mother as his mother was a prostitute.

This is true. Malcolm developed this personality because of his mistreatment as a child, in my opinion.

I believe that's a spot where the director needs to assume the audience is as dull as a box of rocks and has to show them *with visuals* what they've just been told.

I was dissapointed in this movie. Decent cast, just didnt clock...good set up and I guess good pay off but seemed more of the same overall.

I actually yhought in one point that the doctor hadn't even realized that Timmy was one of the personalities, since he never talked, giving the doctor not even a clue of his existance, but then there was the diary with his name repeated several times.

Alfred Molina didnt think that Timmy was the one left. He thought that Paris was the one that was left. He also thought that Ray Liotta was the serial killer personality. Since Timmy "died" when Ginny did, he crossed him off the list.
