Chris Cooper says he was offered the role of Commissioner Gordon in the new Batman film, but turned it down. "I read the script and decided the substance of the script and the character was not up to what I expected," said Cooper. Morgan Freeman said at the Big Bounce premiere that he's considering signing on for a part in Batman.

Interesg of Cooper to say that about the character. It's probably not that big of a role neways, and he was looking for something bigger. Idk about Morgan Freeman. He needs to lay-low for a while. He seems to be taking the Robert Deniro trip, where he's doing these petty roles just for some bucks. He needs to take a couple years off and wait for that special role again.
As for who should end up playing com. Gorden? i have no clue, and i'll probably be happy with anybody.

I don't know if i like the idea of Morgan Freeman as Gordon either. But in Latino Review's script review it says the commishoner gordon is 29 year's old. I don't know about anyone else but Morgan Freeman isn't 29, and sure doesn't look it. Kurt Russell has been tossed around and i think he's an excellent choice, opinions?

I really liked the idea of Chris Cooper as Gordon, well too bad, but Kurt Russell would be great and so would William H. Macy, Ray Liotta, Robert DeNiro or Viggo Mortensen.
also.. Freeman is not up for the role of Gordon .. they want him for the role of Lucius Fox.

Freeman's been mention for both Lucious Fox and Commishoner Gordon

I think Viggo would make a good commissioner Gordon.
