i was just browsing thru upcoming movies site, andf march looks filled to the brim with interesting releases

march 5 has hidalgo and starsky and hutch

march 12 has the girl next door, secret window, spartan, and to a lesser extent, cody banks 2

march 19 looks the most loaded, as it has dawn of the dead, jersey girl, taking lives AND eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

the 26 has the ladykillers, scooby doo 2, and never die alone.

out of these 13 movies, i want to see 10 of them. looks like a solid month (to me anyway) with the 19 looking like an all day movie day.
anyone else wish they had more $ and time when we are bombarded (in a good way) like this

I'll be most likely seeing all of those films in the month of March. The only one that I may skip is 'Dawn of the Dead'.

7 of these will be taking my money in March...

Hidalgo
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Girl Next Door
Secret Window
The Ladykillers
Dawn of the Dead
Scooby Doo 2 <---liked the first one

maybe ill see Jersey Girl, but Kevin Smith status aside, I'm not that keen on it.

Never Die Alone looks kinda crappy. The rest I want to see though. I enjoyed the first Agent Cody Banks movie tramendously and thought the first Scooby Doo was ok (so-so but ok) so I'll check out the sequals. Atleast Cody Banks 2 doesn't look as bad as Catch That Kid.

The rest I'm very excited to see. March does indeed look like a great month. And April looks nearly as good. :)

I haven't seen any of the trailers from the March movies but I will definitely see "Starsky & Hutch" for Owen Wilson, "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" for Charlie Kaufman, "Secret Window" for Johnny Depp AND John Turturro, "Jersey Girl" for Kevin Smith, and "The Ladykillers" by the always awesome Tom Hanks.

With that lineup you can clearly see Hollywood has been waiting until March to actually release something interesting. Not one decent movie came out of January, but you know that's where Hollywood dumps all their crap. Club Dread might be interesting for February as well as 50 First Dates.

This could mean 3 things:

1) At least half of them are going to tank badly, while the others are successes.

2) All of them will have poor or average BO

3) Most of them are going to be huge ---> this will happen only if March is a big month for movies, is it?

This is the order of films according to the money i think they'll do:

scooby doo 2 - 100-150
starsky and hutch - around 100
secret window - 85
hidalgo - 75
dawn of the dead - 65
taking lives - 60
the ladykillers - 50
spartan - 45
jersey girl - 35
cody banks 2 - 30
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind - 20
girl next door - 20
never die alone - 15
the prince and me - ??? --> what's this?

Damn, the "Summer" movie season just seems to be starting earlier and earlier. Early May last year, and now it looks like mid to late March is going to be a helluva kickoff point.

Personally, I can't wait for The Ladykillers and Dawn of the Dead. Both are decent looking remakes of creepy ass originals. Yes, I know Ladykillers is and was a comedy, but the original was pretty freaky.

The only reason I'm really looking forward to Taking Lives is that it's directed by the guy who did Salton Sea. Can't think of his name, but he did a terrific job with that film.

I'll see/rent:

Dawn Of The Dead
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Starsky and Hutch
Girl Next Door (Just because of Elisha Cuthbert.)
Secret Window
Jersey Girl (Just for the cast outside of Bennifer.)

And everyone has to be pumped for Never Die Alone which features the epic screen team of DMX and David Arquette.:D

There are 3 MUST-SEE movies for me in MarcH: Dawn of the Dead, The Girl Next Door and (yes...) Scooby Doo 2. Only because I really enjoyed the first and I'm a fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar. "Secret Window" looks incredible decent to me..."Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" looks very strange. But Kirsten Dunst is a plus and how long since we've seen Kate Winslet? "Jersey Girl" looks...I'll avoid comment to avoid bashing. Oh, and "Starsky and Hutch" looks like one of the most FUN movies in a while. Snoop Dogg as Huggy Bear- hilarious! "Taking Lives" looks good, the whole "cart crash" scene showed in the preview sends chills down my spine. "Ladykillers" looks awful! As does "Cody Banks 2" and "Prince & Me". "Hidalgo" looks like shit on a stick- I hate forced "inspirational movies"- they only inspire me to boo-hiss. Overall though, March is a crowded marketplace and a huge step-up from the ghastly looking "Kill Bill"-less February...

I'm sure a few others will jump too. It wouldn't be very wise to allow that many films be released in one month.

Out of those, I wanna see...

Eternal Sunshine...
The Ladykillers
The Secret Window
Spartan (that's Mamet's newest, right?)

and maybe see...
Jersey Girl (Kevin Smith PG-13 and no Jay and Silent Bob? We'll see...)
Starsky and Hutch (Super Bowl trailer was mediocre)

DEFINETELY WILL SEE IN THEATERS

Starsky & Hutch
Secret Window
Dawn Of The Dead
Jersey Girl
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
The Ladykillers
Scooby-Doo 2

MIGHT SEE IN THEATERS BUT WILL PROBABLY SEE ON VIDEO

Agent Cody Banks 2
The Girl Next Door
Taking Lives

NOT INTERESTED

Hidalgo
Spartan
Never Die Alone

-------------

The Prince And Me has been bumped to April 2nd. I think Paramount wants to copy off of the success of What A Girl Wants, because it opened the same weekend last year and was also rated PG.

Interested in HIDALGO, STARSKY & HUTCH, THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, SECRET WINDOW, SPARTAN, JERSEY GIRL, DAWN OF THE DEAD (2004), TAKING LIVES, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and THE LADYKILLERS.

At least March will make up for this crummy month...
