No Place To Hide
Deadly Messages
Duel
Don't Goto Sleep
Bad Ronald
The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark
Dark Night Of The Scarecrow

I also heard that 'Someone's Watching Me!" and 'The Dark Secret Of Harvest Home' were pretty good too.

O yea! I cannot believe I forgot about that one! One of my all-time fav movies. I guess because it was supposed to do a theatrical run until all of that crap behind the scenes happen. But in the end, it was a made for tv movie, and the best yet so far.

Don't forget

Trilogy of Terror (1975) - with Karen Black in four roles the final segment being the best.

I personally don't like made-for-tv movies.

Harvest Home was good--the book is excellent (by Thomas Tryon) for those who are looking for a good read about modern, I guess the word is paganism.

Don't forget some of the Stephen King adaptations for t.v.--Rose Red, Salem's Lot, The Stand. Longer than a movie run, I know, but I classify them as t.v. movies.

wow, I had no idea it was made for TV!

Dont Be Afraid of the Dark is CLASSSIC! Parts of it (namely, the party scenes) frightens the bejesus out of me,,

Ermm, I cant think of any at the moment..

Night Gallery! Great anthology flick that was originally a pilot for a TV that didn't go anywhere.. GREAT twilight Zone-ish stories with some pretty good acting and production... OOOooo, and a Cameo by Joan Crawford, playing a matriarch (....) who invests in verrry experimental Lazer surgery for her eyes..

Cabrini beat me to the punch. Trilogy of Terror is solid, although the first two vignettes are humdrum. I've heard positive things about Intensity, a Koontz adaptation. Fulci's House of Clocks was made for the tube, but it was deemed to violent to be aired. Needless to say, it's a keeper.

The only one I have in mind is Clownhouse.

The Haunted (1991) starring Sally Kirkland was a made-for-tv movie and the best haunted house film I've ever seen.

I like these types of movies but they are not as good now as they used to be. I try to collect them all but there is one that I want that sometimes is on ebay but for too much I am willing to pay and sometimes they play it on Lifetime but I do not have cable and it is
Summer Girl with
Diane Franklin/Kim Darby/Barry Bostwick. She plays a spooky nanny bitch and she takes care of two kids one of whom is a little David Faustino.
There is also a couple of cars gone evil movies out there that are great tv movies but I can't remember the names and also various snake tv movies as well that are good.

These were already mentioned, but deserve mentioning again....

Dark Night of the Scarecrow
Are You In the House Alone?
Trilogy of Terror

but also....

The Night Stalker
Gargoyles ('74) (live action, not the 90s TV cartoon series)
The Stand
Salem's Lot
Curse of the Black Widow
....and maybe it wasn't the greatest, but House of Frankenstein ('97)....at least they tried!

Pleasant Screams- Doc Noc

I forgot about The Midnight Hour! Good call Darchangel...

I don't remember the title, but there's also a t.v. movie, played around halloween, that had Tim Matheson in it about a wealthy coven that lived on an island and didn't age as long as they sacraficed someone once in a while. Also had Pamela Sue Martin (I think that's her name--the first Nancy Drew, and the first Fallon on Dynasty, anyway) and Woody Harrelson. Anybody remember this one?

I believe Cast A Deadly Spell was originally made for the ol' tube-orama. Great movie.

Wes Craven’s Chiller is an effective thriller about a yuppie (played great by Michael Beck) who was awakened from being frozen for years. He becomes soulless to the people who knew him.

Also the first half of When a Stranger Calls Back is pretty good.

Whatchoo talking 'bout Willis??? Night Gallery was on the air for a couple of years. The pilot you refer to (specifically the Joan Crawford piece) was directed by Steven Spielberg.

The Mystery channel does show the Night Gallery episodes quite a bit.
