Anybody seen this movie? I hear most people giving it bad marks but I sort of enjoyed it. It has great atmosphere and visuals, and the music by Tangerine Dream is cool. That demon also kicked ass, I also liked the world war II setting.
(possible spoilers)
Too bad the plot is muddled, the special effects blow, and the whole movie goes to hell once Scott Glenn starts shooting lasers at the demon. The movie is pretty decent in my eyes but still fails to live up to it's premise
This is the kind of movie they should be remaking.

I've always been a big fan of The Keep .
I think it's truly original which is rare enough in genre cinema .
The visuals are excellent as are the locations ( a Welsh slatemine I believe )
A remake would be interesting but , i think , unnessecary .

You've been unlucky there Cronos . I've got it on video which I bought ex-rental years ago . It's been deleted since , and Channel Four screened it last summer . Hopefully it will be on again soon or resurface on DVD .

I would be keen to see this film again, as I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I remember something about a german being pulled out of a pipe and there is only half of him left??

I really, really, really liked this movie. Michael Manns style is all over it.
I think that what made this movie really special was the location where they filmed it. Mega spooky, mega atmospheric which made a lot of the scenes extra eerie.
I couldnt understand why anyone would not like this creepy flick. I wish it got a DVD release soon, Id defeneatly purchase it.

I remember seeing it late at night on Channel 4 many years ago, it was shown in widescreen and it was one of the first times I remember realising "wow, that looks so much better than normal TV (4:3)" Managed to track down a video copy, but would love a DVD release to see it in widescreen and get that Tangerine Dream score in 5.1 or DTS... plus the varying endings... come on Paramount, release it!
Ironically, it was shot down the road from where I live now, the same area as used in the Sam Neill Merlin miniseries and doubled for China in Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life...
