Chinese title was Shi Mian Mai Fu.

This is the new martial art film (and the last) from Zhang Yimou, the greatest director in mainland China, who has brought us Hero, Raise The Red Lantern, and To Live. Zhang Yimou's Hero was more of an experiment, as he said in a interview, and that Lovers will be the real deal.

It stars Zhang Ziyi, Andy Lau, and Takeshi Kaneshiro. Anita Mui was suppose to be in it...but she died...

Here is the Japanese teaser: http://www.filmweb.pl/news/lovers_yokoku2.mpg

Couldn't tell much from that preview, but hell it got me excited anyways. Hopefully with Warner Brothers having a hand in this, it will get a decent release time in theatres here so i don't have to get a damn vcd a year from now.

yup...
the movie looks like it'll be fantastic

though that teaser showed almost next to nothing...

and i hate the name :p...i wish he stuck with house of flying daggers...that sounded cool :)

and what gets me excited is that zhang yimou has been quoted as saying that hero was an experiment, and that this is the real deal...he also said that he won't be doing any more martial arts films after this one...

Warner Bros. only owns the Japanese rights, as it does to Hero. It will not buy the rights in North America
