you can read the news on the front page but for what www.darkhorizons.com says...

"Ok so his roving hands turned one simple little nipple into a worldwide fiasco, but former N'Sync-er Justin 'Trousersnake' Timberlake is healing the PR damage it seems by making a foray into the world of cinema.

MTV reports that after nearly a year of browsing over assorted scripts, JT has finally selected to make his big-screen acting debut in the crime drama "Edison" alongside such alumni as Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman. In order to prepare, JT plans to shadow an actual print journalist to learn what daily news reporting is like - the journos identity however is understandably being kept top secret.

Story wise, Timberlake plays Joshua Pollack, "a fresh-out-of-college kid with a counterculture bent" who gets his start by interning at a big-city newspaper who promptly fire him, as a result forcing him to work for a free community weekly where he stumbles upon a very big story about corruption in high places in the city government. He runs with the story, but ends up in serious jeopardy.

Not knowing what to do and in over his head, he turns to the owner of the weekly (Freeman), someone he had dismissed as a nobody but who turns out to be a former war correspondent and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, albeit burnt-out and at the end of his career. The two characters also make an uneasy alliance with a special investigator (Spacey) from the district attorney's office, played by Kevin Spacey.

Production begins March 8th in Vancouver."

-ll cool j also stars in this film according to IMDb.

the premise for this actually sounds pretty interesting but i hope they're able to turn it into something more than just a solid conventional thriller like kiss the girls, along came a spider into something on a higher level...like the negotiator for example.

kevin spacey is my favorite actor, and morgan freeman is one of the actors i respect a lot so i really can't wait for this film. Justin Timberlake, unlike most of the pop stars at least seems to be the first to break convention (from the bubble gum pop, etc) and i'm glad for once that a pop star is actually doing a REAL movie, and not one of those shitty ass romantic comedies (From Justin to Kelly, Glitter, On the Line, Spice World - well, that last one wasn't a romantic comedy, but it was just plain bad)

And even though i don't know if his acting skills are up to par, Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman together again (last time they were together was in Se7en and look how that turned out :D...for those of you who hate that movie, don't answer that question) is more than enough to offset any negative concerns i have over this film.

BESIDES, the one thing Justin Timberlake does seem to have is good taste in movies. I hear his favorite movie is THE USUAL SUSPECTS :D (look to the left)

Jesus Christ, for a second there I thought they were doing Thomas Edison's life story with Justin Timberlake.

Oh god!

Here's the thing. Some singers can act (Queen Latifah, Ice Cube, Cher) some actors can sing (Catherine Zeta Jones, Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor)........some singers shouldn't act (Madonna,Lil Kim, Ginuwine, Ja Rule) and some actors shouldn't sing (Bruce Willis, Scott Baio ;), Jennifer Lopez).

Justin Timberlake is a singer who shouldn't act. I had the displeasure of seeing a horrendous TV Disney movie with him in it a few years ago and he was absolutely awful......terrible.....the boy cannot act. Why couldn't they have chosen an actor for the role? See I don't mind it when a singer attempts acting my taking a small part in a film and then see where it goes from there....it worked for Queen Latifah.....but when a singer takes on a lead role with no real work experience, I don't care for it. That's why we have actors, and thats why we have singers. Singers who want to act should have to work for it...and vice versa. It took Queen Latifah quite a few years, working in small films in small roles, to become a relatively respected actress. I mean if anybody has seen Living Out Loud, Set It Off, Chicago, knows shes got the chops.

Poor choice of movie title...I also thought of Thomas Edison when I read the article. It's just not real catchy!

Sucks that Spacey and Freeman are stuck having to star with that dink Timberlake after movies like THE LIFE OF DAVID GALE and DREAMCATCHER.

How in the hell can you make a film with two great actors such as Spacey and Freeman, and pair them up with a no-good bastard singer like Justin Timberlake?! Hell, that just sounds like an incredibly horrific concept......

Oh btw, that title is a bunch of bullshit. I also thought it was a film about Thomas Edison. It's a good thing I read the entire article, because I probably would have shot myself.....

Ordinarily I'd dismiss this movie with a shrug. But I don't know. The movie does have two FANTASTIC actors Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey. Also Timberlake was ok on Saturday Night Live and was actually pretty funny in a Matrix Reloaded spoof he did with Sean William Scott in the MTV movie awards. So maybe he will surprise me the same way Eminem surprised me in 8 Mile.

LL was supposed to star in JT's role - I'm not sure is the new casting is an upgrade, or just another mistake that will tarnish the hopes for a solid film.

Anyway, I guess the studio, unlike the ladies, do not love cool James.
