go to billboard.com and they have the full article on it...but norah jones' new album sold 1.02 million in it's first week...being the second highest one week sales...right behind N'sync with 1.82....that's a great achievement for this lovely singer/song writer
I bought this album..and I can say it is very good...good job for her!

I was going to buy this album, but I was strapped for cash, so I'm glad it still did well (I burned a copy) But doesn't this album sound a LOT like the first one? I'm a little let down - I thought she would branch out a little.

Wow! This seems like it wouldn't sell that much. Maybe about 600,000 but not 1,000,000 copies. I'm not a fan, but I'd rather have her selling that much instead of a rap or rock flavor of the week.

Yea, I dont hate her music. Dont Know Why was a damn good song, but I would rather have her sell 1 Million than Linkin Park, I have more respect for her.

Im still wondering what happened to Fiona Apple.
Oh year, she grew up and became Norah Jones.

ok, she's not really my cup of tea, but Bill Maher said it best, she's nice and all but her albums are pretty much good much for "Baby boomers to have sex to."
No offense to the baby boomers.
But like everyone else has said, if she's selling more then Linkin park there is some hope left in humanity.

She was in Blender magazine a couple months back shes still trying to overcome her "this world is bullshit" fisaco and trying to write new music.

I haven't heard a single song from the new album, and I'm finding it unbelievably hard to download. And ever since getting ahold of her first cd last night (I had heard it before), I am thinking about going to Walmart soon and getting myself a copy of "Feels Like Home."

Fiona Apple's got a new CD coming out this year. 10 songs, and said to be a mix of OutKast and Tom Waits. I'm game.
Norah's a cool gal. She needs to spice her act up a little, maybe wake up once in a while, throw in a heavy metal track here, some rapping there. But she's good at what she does - making hazy music that'll put ya right to sleep.
Glad to see the success, for some reason I had a one album wonder feeling from Norah, but I was wrong. I'm happy to be wrong for once - I think she's got a promising future.

No no no no no. I went on walmart.com and listened to 30 second samples of her songs, and it is crap compared to the first album. I mean, it's sort of the same, but really different, almost leaning towards country. And the song with Dolly Parton? Geez...

The first album (bar 3 songs) bored me to tears, but this new one is really good. Probably cuz I'm a country bumpkin at heart. :D
I adore "The Long Way Home", one of my favourite songs ever.

norah jones has talent, that is very obvious. I heard the single(s)? off her older album, and I liked them but they weren't exactly my type of music. Her new album is not as impressive, and isn't as good a showcase. Its a mellow plain and simple short cd that glides from track to track seamlessly but that doesn't make it good. Even though her single from her older cd was a cover, it was GOOD! This I was not too happy with, but its better than lots of albums out right now. Not sure it deserves all those cd sales but it is suprising, as she quietly compiled the followup to her debut record. Nice try, but no cigar!

Eloquently put.
Put Melua, Cullum, Bublé and Jones in a tank and burn the fucking lot of 'em...some lucky punter would make a mint out of the resultant caterwaul.
