Hey guys I just recently purchased the nightmare on elm street box set and it is awesome! The video and audio transfers are great and there's plenty of extras. Also the films themselves are great. Does anyone else own this boxset and if so what do you think of it?

I got it about 2 years ago. It's an excellent set, that includes all the films, plenty of extras, and a bonus disk that is packed! When Paramount puts out it's F13 box set, the NOES box set is the model they should use. In other words, this is what a box set should be.

I just got the boxset on Valentine's Day, and I've fell in love with the Elm Street series again. It is a great box set, but my only problem is that there are no commentaries on the movies except 1 and New Nightmare.

Also, has anyone found the first deleted ending for Nightmare on Elm Street in the Labyrith?

Got it about two months ago for $79.99, loved it and will never let it go.

Yeah, I really need to get this box set. This and the Kubrick box sets are on the top of my list.

It's a shame that New Line chose to use the rated cut of Part 5 instead of the unrated version. Plus, I heard that the first film is edited in some way. Call me crazy, but what's the edit, if any?

TheJadedGamer

***SPOILERS***

I think the edit is when Tina is dropped from the ceiling. She hits the bed and blood flies everywhere. This is why her boyfriend (whose name skips my mind) is shown covered in blood in the next shot. On the commentary, Wes said that the MPAA thought that part was too violent.

***END SPOILERS***

And I've never seen the uncut NOES 5, but what is diffrent about the motorcycle transformation scene?

You'd have to ask Arrow on that one with regards to the bike transformation. As for the cut in NOES, is the scene somewhere in the boxset as a deleted scene of sorts? I don't know, because I don't have the boxset :( Damn tuition payments. . .

No cut scenes on the box set that I can remember. and if I do remember correctly, the bike scene had him getting his face ripped off and a few needles were placed in his spine. Also the dinner scene was more graphic, had her getting her stomach ripped open and her own guts fed to her. Ive also been up of 38 hours and hopfully I am thinking of the right moments.

Yeah that did kinda annoy me that they didn't include the unrated version of part 5. Basically the motorcycle scene is longer and graphic and in Greta's death you see him scooping her insides and feeding it to her. I also can't find the other alternate ending. I've been having problems with this riddle in there, can someone help me? The riddle is: If there are two EVIL'S i'll try the one I haven't done before. Does anyone what this means or where I use it in the labyrinth.

I got it a couple of years ago. I especially like the picture of Freddy made up by the ends of the DVD cases.

So does that cut scene from NOES even exist anymore? If so, why the hell didn't New Line stick it in the boxset? I guess the same question applies to the uncut version of Part 5 too.

The farthest I've gotten was having the key, the boiler room key, and the remote. It is rather tricky to navigate.

Now Iīm angry...
Stupid fu..ing American censor...I didnīt know that the first Elmstreet was trimmed at Tinas death...
I must have missed it when watching the DVD...
Now I must find the Swedish rentalversion that is uncut....

Why bother cutting when the blood splashes at Rod , but not when the blood oosing out of the bed (Deppīs death)??
It makes no sense...

I'm pretty sure Craven said that the scene from part one is lost.

I'm told that NOES 5 has been released on VHS unrated with everything that was mentioned earlier intact. Still it's not enough for me to go look for it. NOES 5 wasn't that good.

I finally bought it this year. The extras are great combined but buying the DVDs individually is basically a dissapointment. You cant beat the nice 3-d glasses touch. Great cover art as well. Wish the damn DVD cases weren't cardboard though. Ah well, nothings perfect. Only other gripe?? The methods on the labyrinth can get tiresome

Would Wal-Mart or some where sell this Box Set? Because it still seems to be pretty pricy? I'd like to find it at close to $70 istead of $85-$99. Not used of course.

I just found it at Best Buy in So. Salt Lake, for $87.99. That'll do it. Almost bought it at Amazon.Com. They both beat out the $104.98 that everyone else is charging!

I have watched all on the boxset... one thing that bugs me is the repeated interviews in The Labrynth. But some of the Freddyt stuff in there is great stuff. I can't get the window puzzle. Where you highlight the squares. But I have the keys and... I think it's a cell phone.

BoxSet is great stuff, and would have been worth the $100 if I had to pay it. (Wound up paying about $95 w/ Tax and all)

I picked this up at my local HMV sale for an amazing Ģ19.99 which is about $40.00 . The whole package is really good but the stand out for me is the sound . It rocks my home theatre system the way only Lucas does ........... excellent !

I had to get this from Suncoast Video for a hefty $129.99 last year, but it was worth it. Having rewatched all these films again and seeing the behind the scenes stuff with the filmmakers (all about that lambrynth!), I have a better appreciation for this franchise.
I enjoy each and every "A Nightmare on Elm Street" film in its own way. Even Freddy's Dead. In fact, I just watched that one and love its fun vibe. I really think it is underrated.

I think it is underated as well. But the scene where we see the wife Shaken to death... it more or less traumatized me as a child. I saw it when I was 11 or 12, and that scene always had me wondering when my mom and stepdad went outside if that was happening. Weird, I know. But there is SOME reason for me to have thought that.

Wal-Mart is where I found it. I think I paid around $70 for it.

The Labyrinth is a fun way to kill some time, and I thought the interviews were good. I was glad they put in the videos for Dokken's "Dream Warriors" and The Fat Boys "Are You Ready For Freddy?"

I also thought adding in 2 pairs of 3D glasses for part 6 was a nice touch.

I LOVE the glasses! Great idea there. The booklet's pretty good too. Boxset design, a plus. New line just did a good design, bottom line.

Too bad they didn't fit "Nightmare On My Street" by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince in the Labyrinth somewhere, but I don't think there was ever a video for it.

The Freddy Boxset in FYE was $109 and like 25 cents. Which i find outragous. I have like 3 of the vhs' and at the rate their priced, to buy them all on vhs its gonna be like 30 dollars and is there that much of a big deal over vhs and dvd?

Yes, they do.

And you can get this box set a lot cheaper than 109 or whatever. Besides Walmart for 79 there's always online.

I basically agree. I dont care much for 4 and 5 but they're watchable. 6 is not. The last one is great though, as is the first one and the third. 2nd isnt that good but it's mediocre.

I recently bought this and this is one of the best presents that I've ever gotten. Great extras and all the movies are good in their own respective manner.

i got the boxed set (finally) for XMAS. I've been wanting it since i was about 10. It's a pretty great set. I especially love the original cover art on each box.

Also, does anyone know the trivia game codes for the first 2 movies? For some reason the dream world trivia game only worked on my computer for movies 3,4,5,6 and 7 but they won't work for 1 and 2. I have the codes for the latter ones but not for the first 2.

If anyone can help by replying here or emailing me at bangel144@yahoo.com it would be greatly appreciated.
