Out of the choices, I went with the Coens. With Cronenberg and Gilliam very near behind. And Peter Weir, but he wasn't on the list.

The Coen Brothers

Of course there's always the "other" option, but then i really love the Coens, and it's not an easy desicion to make, who's my favorite director of all time. They would definitely feature on my list somewhere.

wow that was tough.
anyway, I voted for the Coen Brothers because out of that list, they have directed more of my favorite movies (Fargo, Miller's Crossing, Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona, etc.) Of course they have a larger filmography than a lot of the directors, but oh well. They are my favorite out of that list.

Top 10 of the list:

1. Joel and Ethan Coen
2. Quentin Tarantino
3. John Carpenter
4. David Lynch
5. Terry Gilliam
6. Paul Thomas Anderson
7. David Cronenberg
8. Tim Burton
9. David Fincher
10. Other: Alex Cox
