Just recently saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre and it helped me to realize that in my opinion that is his best film. Followed very closely by Poltergeist of course. I left out Crocodile cause it was a straight to video and I didnt have enough space.
What do guys think?

Eaten Alive and Toolbox Murders had their moments IIRC, and I liked Lifeforce - but Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a classic. I'd be surprised if it doesn't end up as the clear winner here.

"Poltergeist". One of the best genre flicks out there.

I was torn between choosing between these films becuase just like you Cronos I love Lifeforce, its a really cool fx fest with a female vampire naked for 95% of the film! Plus theres zombies! And the total anhialation of England! Whats not to like?
And then Poltergeist which is yet another fx fest, let alone one of the best haunted house/ghost movies out there and geez it was just a tough choice.
But TCM, for me anyways was the real ground breaker. Many films where to follow in its footsteps and imitate it. Its too much of a classic and it certainly is one of his most focused and raw films. So I chose it, but it wasnt easy believe me.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre..probably my favorite horror movie ever. I also like Poltergeist, but it wasn't all Hooper.

You can't beat TCM... at least Hooper can't! Talk about having a millstone round your neck!!! I respect what he tried to do with TCM2 but nothing will ever eclipse the memory of the first film.
(Except Mathilda May's breasts!!!)

Well since I’m Dangerous Tonight didn’t make the poll I go with TCM over Poltergeist in a coin toss.

Salem's Lot.
Poltergeist.
TCM.
I still consider TCM to be vastly overrated, not bad though.
Tobe Hoopers latest abomination's leave me cold, and wondering how on earth a once gifted movie maker could slowly sink into blatant depths of absurdity.

LOL! Yeah, if I'm Dangerous Tonight weren't excluded, TCM wouldn't stand a chance.

TCM, but in my opinion Tobie Hooper is the Lucio Fulci of american films. He made about 3 or 4 great one's and the rest are crap.
I also though Salem's Lot was way overrated and the book was 10,000 times better, and less dated. Maybe they will get it right with the remake.

Hmm, I voted TCM. Although I think I like Part 2 as more fun (not better). Also, I was watching The Manger UR version and it was almost too hard to stomach for me. It featured dozens of the deaths I can't stomach (people being bent, broken, etc...).

Oh, it goes without saying. It was neck and neck with TCM. Robert Englund's desperate plea for anal sex nearly sealed the deal.

THE MANGLER or LIFEFORCE
The Mangler was sheer perfection in incoherence and weirdness.
Whereas Lifeforce taught us not to subdue a naked space chick with biscuits.
Both had bizarre casting choices(Steve Railsback, Ted Levine, Peter "Polo shirt"Firth).
Yes, I know I will get crucified for my choice of the Mangler, but I don't consider Poltergeist Tobe's movie (more Spielbergian in content).
This is Lady S., surfin' the boards again, fellas.

Hey Stefania, welcome back! I was wondering where the heck youd ran of to.
