Does anyone wish that there were more of these? It seems like every apocalyptic movie today is either with zombies or a virus. I can't remember if Demons would be considered end-of-the-world since I didn't see the ending. I just remember them terrorizing people in that apartment and theater. Recently I was reading a novel of the same title at Borders and it was about hellspawns of all shapes and sizes making earth their playground. A group of people, including scientists were trying to figure out a way to destroy them. Something like that would make a great film. Are there other movies out there similar in nature?

Would Ghoulies count? Or Critters? Hmmm.

Most apocalyptic films deal with UFO's or viral infections. I suppose that any demon dirge could be considered apocalyptic since the antagonist's goal is usually to usurp the world for evil. They wouldn't stop at a group of teenagers.

Hey Demon Knight was going in that direction since the demons did want to bring hell to earth...they just never achieved it. But Id say this is as close as your going to get in getting an "apocaliptic demons" movie.

Though I gotta say, I havent seen that theme done before in a film. In fact its an idea thats ripe for a screenplay!

Well in a more subtle manner than all out demon mayhem in the streets of all the major cities of the world would entail...Prince Of Darkness by John Carpenter sort of works.

I think with special effects being at the level they are at right now it's entirely feasible for an all out apocalyptic horror movie with some spectacular demon action and I don't doubt that it will happen at some point. Just don't expect a gore fest or even a scary movie. If they are spending the sort of bucks that would be required to handle all of the demon effects then it'll likely be aimed at a more mainstream audience.

I haven't read it yet but the last book in F. Paul Wilson's series of novels that began with The Keep seems to be something along the lines of what we'd like to see on the big screen. Right? Wrong?

Holy crap I totally forgot about that one! Your right that one is an apocaliptic demon movie, its got that whole end of the world vibe going for it but in a subtle way. Not a full blown out "the end is here" way.
