That depends on what you hated about NOTLD. If you were disappointed with the lack of action, i.e. Zombie Carnage and Zombie disposal, then I would definetely reccomend DOTD. You might even be able to find some appreciation for Day if you end up liking Dawn.

Yes Yes YES!

Dawn of the Dead is probably my favorite horror movie of all time. It is the best of the series. Day of the Dead is still quality, but Dawn is better.

Watch it now!

Definately watch them man. Dawn is more action packed and fun while Day is slower paced, it's still an excellent film and is much more darker and gorier then the previous two.

I didn't like the first one that much, mainly because it's in black and white and I HATE black and white!!! But I liked the remake and the sequels, especially Dawn with it's vast quantities of violence!

The original Night Of The Living Dead suffers from the inevitable, age.

Dawn Of The Dead is a great film, however Day remains for me the best of the series, so far :D

Give them a look you've nothing to lose apart from your sanity perhaps.

Absolutely. Some people hate one, and love the other two. Each film is so different from the last, you're bound to dig at least one of them.

Yeah NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD suffers from the whole age thing big time! I much prefer watching the remake which I feel is the better film anyway. Plus I HATE black and white too!! But DAWN OF THE DEAD and DAY OF THE DEAD are fantastic horror movies. You must watch them!!!

Ive only seen and only have The night of the living dead, and happily watched it over the last weekend. Does it suffer from its age? well yea, most horror flicks do. Is it realy that bad? Well in MY OPINION this is much more scarier than the original texas chainsaw massacre and the excorsist. The music adds the creppy feel to this movie big time and its easy to see how the Resident Evil game was inspired from this movie.

I'm waiting for Dawn of the Dead's new dvd's as we speak.

DEFINITELY give the sequels a shot! And even check out the NOTLD remake, which is also very good. You might like it better for its more recent look. DAWN OF THE DEAD ROCKS!!!!

Well, that makes two strikes I watch Dawn Of The Dead and again I didn't like it I'll still watch the remake and Day Of The Dead but I guess I'm not a zombie fan even though I loved Resident Evil and 28 Days Later. But how's Day Of The Dead?

Day of the dead is AWESOME!!!:D It's much more darker toned and series than Dawn and is much more claustrophobic. It mostly takes place within an underground missle silo and there is a quite a bit of dialogue so if your one impatient bastard then you might be bored. Also it features some of the most realistic gore on film and brings up some social commentary and has some very thought provoking dialogue moments. If your a patient person who can appreciate a brilliant gory movie then you should like it.

Day was a great movie. Plenty of gore, although slow at time the end makes up for it. I suggest giving the NOTLD 90 a try as well. Great film that some people enjoy more than the original. Mainly cause it's in color but it's your call. :)

Definetely check out Dawn, Day, and The remake to Night and Dawn. all 4 movies are awesome!!! the original Night is good but it DOES suffer from it's age.

In regards to the comments being made about NOTLD, although I do respect all of the opinions of my fellow schmoes. I dont agree with knocking NOTLD 68! I was just a little schmoe back in the 70's and I grew up during the age of Late night horror show hosts and Drive-Ins. Since coming to this board, I have been dying to share my experiences and thoughts on horror films. Whether it was black and white or color, I have seen it all. Universal Pictures, Allied Artist, American International, Hemisphere Pictures, the list of studios that were in the business of producing horror movies rolled on. Movie and T.V. screens were alive and filled with Vampires,Werewolves, Ghouls, Ghosts and Giant bugs! I loved every damned minute of it! But then it happened...Night of the Living Dead, was the last of the big hits from the Drive-in era. It was the turning point of horror films, I was around ten years old when I first saw it at the Super 130 drive in, there were 2 other horror flicks on the marquee. NOTLD was the 3rd and final movie shown, I had no idea what I was in for that night. Or what I was about to experience, it was black and white, It was dark, it was crude, it was grainy and creepier than anything that I had ever seen before. The claustraphobic setting, people trapped in a house with these things outside trying to kill them! It carried with it a nightmarish quality, that transends film. NOTLD was a reflection of the anger of the times. The ambiguity of not knowing what was happening and why was terrifying. Romero reminds us of the one constant in life and that is death can come for us at anytime, with no hope of escape! I dont think that this film suffers from age at all, on the contrary...it only gets better with age like a fine wine! If anything it is a constant reminder that the world even today... is a scary place to live in. NOTLD influenced the next generation of film makers, from Wes Craven to Tobe Hooper and every one down the line. For more on this check out the Night of the Living Dead 25th anniversary tribute by Tempe video! (if you can find it.) It showcases a round table discussion with George and the rest of the creators involved in the film. Along with interviews with the above metioned filmakers and more.(Recommend viewing for DEAD fans!) In closing I would like to say I enjoy the entire trilogy and the remake in 1990. I havent seen the Dawn remake so I really cant comment on that yet! If anyone has read my post on the thread regarding the debate of "which is better the 68 classic or the 90's version" You know that I embrace both them as two seperate films for the ages. Romero paved the way for the others to follow! NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is and always be the true grandaddy of them all!!!

I loved the original NOTLD. It deserves its rating of "classic". Excellent movie making.

Didnt really like NOTLD remake, much prefer the original.

Dawn is highly overrated to me. The gore was just...cheap. Although I do admit there's some great tension moments.

Day of the deads ending was gory but it just didn't attract me much.

Guess Im not the biggest zombie person.

Dawn of the Dead's gore was not "cheap". it is just old. the special effects were not that advanced back then.
