I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I've seen people talk about McFarlane's figures on this board so here goes nothin'.

I'm currently working on some custom horror figures (from my own screenplay), and I was just wondering if anyone knew what type of paint I should use. I once used normal paint, the kind the come from the small squeeze bottles but those...kinda...smelled.

Any help would be appreciated.

What are you making the figures out of?

I'm going to try and use other figures, the cheapest I can find and simply paint or mold over them. But mostly just repainting.

The small tins of Humbrol paints would do you - I used to use them in my model making days.

I also sculpt, and have to paint said sculptures. A couple of years ago a friend tried to get me to play warhammer. I was not interested in the game, but the paints for the models are excellent and I've used them ever since. They're Citadel acryllic paints and are available in Games Workshop stores and anywhere else that sells warhammer.
