Just sitting there getting bored knodding of when all of a sudden Tiger Woods appears saying "Gopher.....I hate Gophers!"

What followed is perhaps the best advertisement featuring an athlete is television history. And I say that with confidence. Not "Taste great less filling", not "It has to be the shoes", or any other one you can think of. (well the Be Like Mike ads do come close)

Cudos to American Express (but why not during the Super Bowl). Nike has to be kicking themselves for not coming up with a Tiger ad parodying Caddy Shack before now. I'm thinking so advertising execs with Nike are about to be fired. To steal a line from Bill Simmons, "I feel strongly about this!"

Anyways have to get back to the awards. Just looking for your comments or your nominees for best commercial.

Bugger that for a larf. I thought you was referring to his excellent win in the matchplay champs. We're too smallsville to get them fancy adverts you're spruiking. Ain't there a TV forum guv?

Well I figured that his winning a tournment is old news, but his filming a hilarious commercial to something that needs to be pointed out. :D

Tiger has had some funny moments in the past, but for the most part he seems very stoic and focused all the time. To see his impersonation of Carl Sackler was awesome.

Awesome commercial no doubt.

A brilliant stroke of genius whoever came up with the idea.

I love at the end when the pest control guy bags the gopher and he says 'they always fall for this song'. Pure comedy!

But I think my vote for best sports commercial still goes to Young MJ vs Old MJ. A classic commercial. Gives me goosebumps everytime.

Young MJ: "I coulda dunked it"

Old MJ: "You should have dunked it"

Oh it was *amazing*...I saw a movie this weekend, and this played before it, I was the only one in the theater laughign (Does NO one appreciate the classics anymore?!)...but, I'm so proud of wee Tiger for doing this.

I guess you never realize that people have senses of humor and are willing to make fun of anything. No one has any fun anymore, but, regardless, WHY should this be so surprising? It shouldn't! But it is! Tiger Woods doing a parody? What? Someone actually laughing? YES! For the most part things are "sleek" or "edgy" or endearing. To hell with endearing. Caddyshack is where it's at, kids, and it thrillls me to know that there is someone SOMEWHERE attempting to be clever.

Right on.

Yeah Annie Hall we have that commercial playing at the theatre where I work at! I saw it for the first time the other night when I saw The Passion of the Christ on Tuesday. Great stuff...Tiger doing Carl Spackler(Tiger lists Caddyshack as his favorite film of all time naturally)

Personally I really enjoy Tiger's commercials with his talking Tiger head cover(voiced by Paul Giamati). I have the same Tiger head cover on my driver by the way hehe...

Also since it was brought up great to see Tiger repeat at the WGC Accenture Match Play championships this past weekend for his first win of the year...Tiger is going to win at least 2 majors this year, you can book it!

Sadly, no. I saw the full length commercial before 'Welcome to Mooseport' this weekend and once I realized they were parodying Caddyshack, I was, to say the least, giddy. I loved it, I was rolling in my seat, and people were looking at me like "the hell is wrong with this guy'? I tell ya, classics are lost by society nowadays. Its sad, really.
