Which one is your favorite and why?

I picked the original because I loved it so much as a child and to this day it still gives me chills if I watch it alone.

I went for the original... The reason? Because it's one of the best horror films of all time, IMO.

my vote had to go to the orginal, because its the first TCM period. I can't believe someone voted for 4. But hey everyone has their opinion.

TCM II:When Dennis Brings in the Sheaves!

Yes, the original was fucking awesome. Yes, the dread was apparent. How could TCM II be so endearing?

-Dennis Hopper as Lefty
-The return of Jim Siedow and the sexual imagery that Leatherface gave us.
-That touching scene where L.G. saves Stretch by forgetting the fact that he's been skinned alive.
-The music was faboo.

Camp wins out in this entry, yet this is the strongest TCM as afr as storytelling goes (ha!). TCM III was good, and four is awful, and amusing.

And yet TCM II currently still has no votes! ;)

The Original, thats not saying much though I'm not much of a TCM fan. While the original is a decent horror flick I think its far from the masterpiece most horror fans feel it is.

It isn't really a wonder to me how the original is in the lead without even a close second. It truly is amazing. One of my top ten favorites. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Part 3: N/A
Part 4: 3/10. Gross.

Heh, that was a mistake. I posted "part four" as a joke, but then I actually voted for it without even thinking. Of course, I meant to vote for the original.

Alright guys...i know ure all gonna be shocked by this but...

I really thought that TCM 4 was entertaining and really isnt the disaster it was made out to be. Matthew seemed to really relish the part and sure it was campy...but not overly so like it was made out by everyone.

Before u all ban me from posting my opinion (before u start bashing remember this is my personal opinion and theres nothing u can to do about it) id like to "redeem" myself by saying that TCM is a masterpiece and my favourite of the series. Happy now?

But i still stand by my opinion...TCM 4 isnt all bad!

Voted for 1974 version (haven't seen remake yet). And why? For its grittiness, its good attempt at realism, more authentic shocks, and very controversial at the time. Plus Tobe Hooper's track record isn't a bad one in this genre and TCM is perhaps his finest moment.

So far 24 schomoes prefer the orginal. That includes me. Just because the original is usually better than sequels or remakes.

I changed that for you. I'll accept any number of sexual favors in return...

As for me, I voted for the first one. It's clearly the best, in my humble opinion. I'll confess to enjoying the second more than I should have, however.

This is my personal opinion, and it may sound like blasphemy to some, but I believe that the remake is what the original should have been.

I chose the original well cause that shit was scary as all hell when i first saw it at the young tender age of 9. the gritty image of a chainsaw wielding maniac killing young teenagers was pretty cool to me.
