GREAT SCOTT!

SCOTT WALKER has signed a new record deal with cult indie label 4AD.
The star, who first found fame in the 1960s with The Walker Brothers, has not released an album since 1995’s ‘Tilt’. He is best known for his quartet of 1960s albums, ‘Scott’ through to ’Scott 4’.
4AD have also enjoyed a long history, providing home to the US indie dynasty of the Pixies, The Breeders and Throwing Muses.
Walker is expected to begin recording his first material for the label imminently.
It's like all my birthday's have come at once...
*tear*
This is bloomin' BRILLIANT news.

I was actually thinking about if Walker would be putting out any new material yesterday.
I think this deserves a giant......
Fuck Yeah!

I wonder if he'll be pursuing the "Tilt" avenue...or going back to his 60's style. Either way, I'm absolutely ECSTATIC to hear that Scotty aint handing in his shades just yet.

I'm hoping he does something experimental ala "Tilt" but totally different than anything else he's done before. I have a feeling that's what direction he'll go in.
I'm all giddy. What if he tours?

Since reading his biography...I doubt it.
I saw some video footage of him performing on the Jools Holland show in the mid-90's. He yodeled like a mad man in PITCH darkness :D (apparantly frightened by "what was out there")...methinks his paranoia has hit a peak of sorts.
There's also the fact that he refuses to fly unless sedated...they say he travelled by sea to the NME awards, and touring via sea is hardly appropriate. I just don't think he could handle it nowadays...a few gigs here and there maybe, but I'm dubious about a tour.

BCV, ssn't your main squeeze Jarvis suppose to be producing Walker's next record? I'd thought I'd read that somewhere.

I guess I'll just have to dream about it.

I bloody wish mate.
Scotty and Jarvis became buddy's at the Meltdown festival; incidentally, this years Meltdown curator is none other than the bloody MOZ!!!
Scott kindly came out of hiding and produced Pulp's FINAL album, the enormously undervalued We Love Life.
I reckon I'd pop my clogs on this very spot if another collaboration was in the works.
