Alright, I just hooked up with a new band, and being a guitarist/horror movie freak, I figured why not cover some good horror flick themes... so far we have these three nailed down...
CANNIBAL FEROX
ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13
THEY LIVE
And I gotta say, I'm damn proud of em... rock n roll remakes of horror themes... but what im askin is, any suggestions for horror themes that would work well as rock songs?

I think the Rosmary's baby theme could work with as a very tongue in cheek love song, just those "la-la-la's", give it a hard rickin' chorus, put some lyrics over it and call it "are you my baby?" or sumthin'??
and of course Suspiria and Killer Klownz From Outer Space would be good to cover!!! and how about House of 1000 Corpses??

I play guitar too (big jazz/blues nut) and I think the OST for Deep Red would be really, REALLY cool to play with a full band. Lots of Goblin stuff, in fact, but that'd be the most fun to jam over.

i am a drummer...i'll give you guys some beats for the songs!
btw, LivingDeadDude....you ever hear of a band called "Fantomas"? It's Mike Patton working with the magnificent likes of King Buzzo, Trevor Dunn, and Dave Lombardo. Their 2nd album entitled "The Director's Cut" is an album of pure genius, and consists of songs from different movies done Fantomas style. "Rosemary's Baby" is one of them, and is also one of the finest tracks on the album. i recommend you fellow musicians and movie fans pick up this album ASAP. i promise you won't be sorry. Just ask Countchocula, for i know he'll agree.:D

You could remake some of Goblin's scores and possibly the Halloween theme.

Hehe, totally! the Halloween theme is built on an irregular beat, which would probably make for some serrrious confusion.

You're damn right I will. The Director's Cut is one of my favorite albums of all time. Fucking amazing. If you're looking for some ideas on how to cover movie themes, this disc is quite inspiring. I can't recommend it enough.

Yea Fantomas is possibly the most genuis of album concepts. And after all, Mike Patton is God. Do be careful though so you don't do exactly what Fantomas is doing. As much as I would love to rip off er I mean be inspired to do some of the same pieces they did, I want to stray away from the cookie cutter horror cover band. Would love to hear your demo when you get it finished! Great to hear another horror band out there. Hell, maybe you could come here and we could gig together.
