Yo schomes,

Yet another kinda complaint from the FvJ movie and its semi-plot holes, don't get me wrong I loved...LOVED this movie but I can't believe I didn't see this one the first, second and third time I saw this movie:

Right, the scene where Lori puts herself to sleep and lies next to Jason in the van, where they tied him up. Lori then proceeds to enter Jason's dream, his mind. Now, this was my fourth watch on this fabulous movie and then it suddenly clicked inside my goldfish mind.....wasn't Alice the only one who could enter other people's dreams, and last time I checked Lori didn't have Alice's power.

I still can't believe it took me a fourth viewing to actually spot that little mistake/plot hole.

Thoughts?

Wow, I never thought of that!!! I was still trying to figure out what the hell Jason was doing turning up at the sanitarium for no particular reason!!!!!!!

I can only guess that Freddy dragged her in there so he could kill her more easily, (as soon as she got there Freddy appeared to her as one of the camp councelors).

Of the numerous times I've seen Freddy VS Jason I've never noticed that either! Man I'm slow. Apparently more people than Alice must have that power. Or maybe the screen writers were lazy and didn't fully check up on their research.

Yes, Alice was able to get into Freddy's or other people's dreams on her own will.

But, I don't think that Lori was doing it on her own will. I believe that Freddy lured her in, seeing how she was dreaming. Freddy knew Lori was testing Freddy, so he let her in. Earlier, they said that they could lure Freddy with a victim, a virgin, one's who's pure.

So, who's better than Lori to use for bait? Of course, that was in a dream, but in reality, they still wound up concocting that plan, so they use her.

But, there's more than that. I think Lori wanted to challenge Freddy, because he ruined her past, what with the community wrongly sending the teens familiar with Freddy to a sanitarium (in order to protect the community), and losing Will to their plan. And, this was even before she found out that Freddy really killer her mother, not her dad as Will said he saw, or thought he saw.

I think she had more determination to stop Freddy than the movie shows. And Freddy realizes that, having killer her mother all. So, he let in the dream. That's what happened. Freddy let her in the dream. She didn't pull an Alice.

So, I wouldn't call this a "flaw" at all.

I never got the impression that Lori entered Jason's dream. She had a dream (or a nightmare, rather) in which Freddy forced her to be a helpless bystander to Jason's demise.

It was actually Kristen from NOES 3 (the REAL Kristen) that could go into other people's dreams and bring them into her own (which she did more often). Maybe Jason has the same dream power. You never know...

Alice, on the other hand, got all of her friends' powers after they died.

Although I'm grasping maybe Freddy alowed her to be in Jason's dream so he could keep an eye on both of them.....? Couldn't say for sure but you make a good point. The director and writers ignored alot of parts about the other movies in the series (Jason's afraid of water?) so you can kind of think of this movie as independant from all the others. There's the Nightmare series, The Friday series, then there's FvsJ

My thinking is that Freddy pulled Lori in there so that he could have some fun, since he probably knew that the kids would try to do something with Jason being incapacitated.

Acutally, Jason being afraid of water makes sense. He's afraid of water in his dreams, not in reality (thus, the reason he's the first to dive into Crystal Lake when a stupid bimbo skinny dips). His dreams hold his last memory as a human (as a retarded 11 year old drowning...), so it does make sense. You can afraid of things in your dreams and not be afraid of them in reality.

I guess but he wasn't exactly a retarded 11 year old when that water main burst. I mean he wouldn't even slice the water with his machete.

Some interesting comments flying around, I guess we can all assume that Freddy did in fact bring Lori in Jason's dream so he could possibly keep an "eye" on them, so to speak.

Thats because he was in the dream world, where his fear of drowning is brought out ten fold. Like Duke said, you can be afraid of something in a dream and not be afraid of it in reality.

This is exactly what I thought. Like say remember the time in the original film when Nancy could only watch FREDDY enter Rod's cell but she couldn't actually do anything about it? FREDDY likes to fukc with people, and thats just one more thing that makes him more sadistic. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

That's a good point, Nancy did exactly the same thing in the first film! Maybe the writers did know what they were doing after all...:D
