And so begins the fallout of the Maurice Clarett ruling.
These kids are fooling themselves in they thing they have any chance whatsoever of being drafted come April. If they think they're good enough to actually play in the NFL then they're throwing away their futures. Even if one of them did by some miracle get drafted could you imagine them going up against someone like Ray Lewis or Brian Urlacher? There'd be nothing left of them.
Here's hoping the NFL doesn't turn into the NBA.

Mike Williams I think has a bright future in the NFL, even at this stage. Good luck to you others though, you'll need it.
It's unbelievable that there isn't some authority figure around that can talk some sense into these kids. They think they can go right from high school to pro football, geez. Why do you think so many college freshman use a redshirt year, very few are ready to play college ball, let alone pro.

Wow, some of these kids really dream of becoming waterboys for NFL teams. That's about the only thing I can see them being mature, big, and strong enough for.
Meh, it's all just an experiment this year. In April we'll see if any of them actually end up being drafted, and if they do, where they will go from there. We are witnessing history being made, gents. Personally, I think this experiment will be an utter failure. ;)

First off...PJ...the new avatar is priceless.
I'm wondering if at least a couple of these high schooler are doing just for the fun of it. One of them is a QB from Capac, MI a small farming town not all that far from where I live. He has to know that he has no chance of making it. It's just has to be for the experience of it.
None of them were ranked among the top 25 players at their position among high school seniors.

So the ruling on these guys eligibility is that once they declare they can't go back to college, or is it once they contact an agent they can't? I'm confused on this, it seems unbelievable to me that these kids would give up their college eligiblity to try for the NFL straight out of high school. Maybe I'll have to go back and read that story closer.

I could maybe see an OL being a success eventually, but I'm not so sure any team would waste a pick on anyone else.
