well we reached a new low in music history....I was at a hot topic recently and came across the band t-shirts...I was just looking through them all and came upon a metallica shirt...I look closer at it and realize it's also a spongbob squarepants t-shirt....it was a shirt of metallica in a concert and spongebob and patrick in the back ground "rocking out"....I almost cried when I saw this.....it's a good thing I stopped liking them awhile ago..but this is a sad....sad moment in music history...someone please help me:(

So it's an official shirt, and not of one the millions of pirate shirts on the market?
It's interesting how for example Calvin and Hobbes shirts are sold commonly everywhere, despite that fact that NOBODY has the right to create and sell them because Bill Watterson has all the rights and he has denied anyone to build any merchandise around his beloved characters.
So the fact that you have seen a Metallica T-shirt somewhere doesn't mean that it's a product approved by Metallica.
BTW, I think Metallica is nowadays better than they have been since 1991. St. Anger rocks.

God, St. Anger doesn't even deserve to be compared to the greatness of pre-1991 Metallica. What a piece of shit that was.
Seems like I find new reasons not to like Metallica all the time, yet I'm still going to see them live in May....I mean, come on, it's Metallica!

Very true. St. Anger sounds as if it were a Slipknot/System Of A Down/Metallica collaboration. It, along with Load and Reload, don't compare to the landmark albums like Master Of Puppets and Ride The Lightning.

I thought it sounded more like the Loads mixed with Slipknot. SOAD are too talented to be mentioned with Slipknot and the Metallica of now, and being with Spongebob is not that bad, I mean Pantera played the background music for one episode.

I have yet to fully listen to St. Anger...that is the worst album I own...I seriously would of taken it back if it was possible..and I have seen them live lasy summer at summer sanitatium..and it's nothing that great..I have a better time at the concerts that cost me like 10 bucks compared to the 90 I paid to see them in columbus...what a waist of money...I hate that new bassist!....anyways...I think there has to be some rights to have metallica on a shirt...you gotta remember this is METALLICA..this band will sue anyone who mutters their name without paying first...and since it hase their logo and name on the shirt and everything..I'm pretty sure they gave the ok on it...they wouldn't let that go by

Whoop dee doo!!! This is an insult to Spongebob, not Metallica.
Metallica is such a friggin' joke it's just plain sad. They should have been forced to retire or at least change their band name (Top Fortyca would be a fitting one) after they were finally finished touring the Black Album, which was just an OK album compared to the 1st 4. After that one we get nothing but embarassing CRAP. I would love to go back in time to, let's say, 1985 or 6, and play a post-black album to Metallica, they'd laugh their asses off & laugh even harder if you told them it was actually their lame-o selves in the future.
I get so angry from discussing Metallica as they used to absolutely rock my world!

Pantera was actually on Spongebob on time, I don't know if anyone cares about them, but I just thought I would mention that...

They weren't on it they just performed the background music on an episode called Prehibernation.
