As of right now who do you think will be the worst team in the nfl?
My currect vote goes to the 49ers.
1. Tim Rattay
2. Can't name one WR on the team.
3. Weak Defense
4. Barlow unproven starter.
The Cardinals are an obvious runner-up, but I think they will put up more of a fight.

I think Barlow's starting to prove himself. But Niners are definately a GOOD choice.
For me...
I'd probably have to say Carolina. Just for the way parity has been going around, and their luck will catch up with them. Having the 31st pick of the NFL draft doesn't help either.
Other than that, the Bears I don't think will have their shit together. Arizona I would wager on being an 8-8 team, with no less than six wins. With the #3 pick, look for them to get a kickass receving corps goin on.
As for the AFC, keep your eye on Buffalo. I'm not so sure Mularkey will get the job done, and will only serve a one year term as head coach. Buffalo has the power, but Mularkey will blow it when things don't go as planned. This is the same guy that fucked up the Steelers offense.
I also don't see the Chargers amounting to much. (Keep an eye on Williams/Fitzgerald for their #1 pick... Boston's likely to be Gggone soon)

Yeah I can't believe they were even thinking about taking a QB. I think Brees will be fine given the right opportunities. BUT Manning will also be great IMO.
Come on now...Carolina will have that division wrapped up by week 9.

You... Do realize they won the NFC last year, right?
My pick is San Diego.

You do realize that the returning AFC Champs (Raiders) ranked at second worst for last year... ?
And the returning Superbowl champs went a measely 7-9.
Just my prediction on parity though.(the new favorite term when discussing NFL) Things seem to shake up so much due to innovative schemes. I think Carolina is a very black and white team, and once Defenses and Offenses catch onto them, they'll be struggling again, and Delhomme will be a free agent by 05.

If people like Couch are available, I don't think losing Jake would be all that bad. BUT he was GREAT in the playoffs last year..and most 4th quarters. What a clutch guy.

Good point. Anything is possible. I don't see it, though. I think the Panthers are a very sound football team in the mold of the New England Patriots.

I have to say Arizona they have done nothing also I think the 49ers could be as well but they won some games with Tim Rattay but they will be close to the bottom of the league next year. Maybe the Giants as well

I think the worst teams next year will be the Chargers in the AFC, and the Cardinals in the NFC.

Take heart, Greb. They're cutting a lot of dead weight. I look for a better performance this year.

I hope not the Raiders, Um... I think Chargers look pretty weak and they just traded David Boston they have no WRs they really need Fitz now.

Bah!
They should get Manning. Bench him for a year, and then when they finish worst in the league again they can pick up the #1 receiver on the market. QBs can be risky picks, but I feel like you can't pass up on it when its a family bloodline with a penchant for success like that.

the Giants will be a playoff team, they sucked last year because of injuries... This year the worst team is probably going to be detroit, or tampa...

I say play him. If the Raiders are smart, they will be working with him at every turn of the corner. Then, good season or not, free agency should open up some options for a receiver. The Raiders will be a very different team in '04. I look for the defense to be much stronger. I also look for some new names to stand out in the offense, even if Eli is their QB.

Gannon's got at least one more good year. And Tuiasosopo is actually going to be an above average QB, I'm convinced. I wouldn't go with Manning. I'd strengthen the run defense. Absolutely EVERYBODY pounded us on the ground last year.
