Probably the closest book into movie was either Silence ofthe Lambs or The Green Mile. The Godfather was pretty close only in details, but some of the main points in The Godfather book were excluded. By closest I mean that the book andmovie were pretty much the same thing.

I'd have to say the worst combination is Farenheit 451. The book was off-center and strange, and the movie was even stranger. and the fact that they made it look like urban london in the mid-sixties... BLEECH!

Haven't read the books to either of them but the movies of Breakfast of Champions and American Psycho are just awful.

best: TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
worst: TEN LITTLE INDIANS (what in the heck was this crap...they staged the best who-done-it in a preposterous setting and ruined the mood entirely. This was an eight-something version starring Donald Pleasence...I'm not sure of the exact year)
