You know that film directed by Jerry Zucker, and starring Sean Connery, Richard Gere and Julia Ormond, and sucked at the box office only taking in 30 million. Many of the critics thought that Camelot was too fantastical, and some were pissed off that it didn't follow a lot of the Arthur legend. But I was impressed on how they went with the Love Triangle between Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot and I think they pulled it off. It had lots of cool battle scenes and great acting from the reliable Sean Connery and sweet Julia. Richard Gere, I felt, didn't suit Lancelot. But anyway this is one of my favourite films (#98 in my top 100) and I was wondering if anyone liked this film?

It's not going to make my top ten list anytime soon, but it's enjoyable and entertaining enough. I think it's namely down to the casting - everyone is in a role that comes to them easiest. Richard Gere is the dashing love interest, Julia Ormond is the romantic heroine, and Sean Connery is the wise husband anguished by his wife's philandering emotions. But still, it's Sean, and he's king. So he can do what he wants, essentially.

An enjoyable popcorn flick.

I saw this movie a couple times when I was a kid and loved it. I haven't seen it for a while so I can't say what I would think of it now.

Yeah, I liked it alot. I can't believe that the critics didn't, though. *sigh*

Anywho, I would give it a solid 8/10.

I actually own First Knight.....

I like it. Its not a great film by any means, but it is a ton of fun to watch. Its fun to watch for the "Cheese" factor especially. Richard Gere was so miscast and out of place that oddly enough he made it that much more fun to watch. Does that make sense? Only in my odd mind probably ;).

Connery is fun, and the "where is she now" Julia Ormond was gorgeous to look at.

Fun battle sequences, decent pacing.....a good rainy day watch..
