What are some of the films you really like that bombed at the box office or were panned by the critics. Here's a few to start: No Escape with Ray Liotta. Ray is very good as John Robbins, a character determined to escape from a prison island. Other strong characters include Lance Henriksen as 'the Father',Kevin Dillon, Ernie Hudson and Stuart Wilson who plays lead bad guy Walter Merek. Director Martin Campbell has gone on to direct Goldeneye, the Mask of Zorro, and Vertical Limit.

Another movie is Kiss of Death with David Caruso, Nicholas Cage, and Samuel L. Jackson. Except for an anti-climactic finale, it's actually a good movie. This movie bombed at the box office and was panned by most critics. As directed by Barbet Shroeder, the ensemble cast all give good performances. It seems that a lot people don't care for carrot-topped Caruso, but I thought he was really good in this. Check it out.

RIDE WITH THE DEVIL was a great movie, I thought. It's directed my Ang Lee and details the accnt of two boys who are on the border during the civil war so they join a band of fellow fighters who refuse to cut their hair until the war ends. Tobey Mcguire is excellent and unbelievably, so is Jewel in her movie debut. Not an action movie but a quiet character study w/ great direction.

"Office Space" bombed, even though it's one of the funniest, coolest comedies in years. Not a masterpiece, but it was every bit as insightful as similarly-themed films like "American Beauty" and "Fight Club."

Good call, MeccaJay, with White Sands. That is an underrated film. I haven't seen Ride with the Devil, Way of the Gun, or Office Space yet. I'll have to check them out. Thanks. Keep them coming.

Most people will laugh at this but I say 1998's "Deep Rising", very different in a good way.
