View Full Version : Ever given a girl The Door Test?

From A Bronx Tale, I mean.
That was the first time I had ever heard of 'The Door Test'. What you do is unlock the passenger side for your lady date, then if she reaches over to unlock your side before you get there, she's a keeper. If not, get ride of her because she's selfish.
I have been meaning to try it but my car has it so when you unlock one door, they all unlock.
Anybody done it and found out anything about the girl's personality that way?

It's funny, I always unlock the guy's door before he gets there. I saw that in the movie and thought "Ah cool, I'm not alone".
It's hard sometimes to get the lock up in time for their arrival. I had a few close calls with that.

been doing it for years, but don't ever remember it from "a bronx tale."
usually doesn't work!

Wireless powerlocks really fucked that theory all up.
Now you just have to do the "bob on my nob" test.
You know how to tell if that one's a keeper.

Is that what I think it is...?

I like the Mario Test better. If youve seen A Bronx Tale, you know what I'm talking about.

I've always done this for anyone, boyfriend or not. I just find it courteous. I don't take great offence if someone - God forbid ;) - doesn't do it, and I have to go to the great effort of inserting my key in the lock; but it's just a nice gesture.
What really pisses me off is when people refrain from holding doors open for people. I'm not just talking about men doing it for women, I'm talking about everyone doing it for anyone. Even worse is when you hold a door, and you don't even get a 'thank you.' Bastards.

I do this for any bugger...'tis common courtesy.
Re: NO "thank you" for holding a door open. Bloody swines!
My pet hate is when folks don't put down the "NEXT CUSTOMER PLEASE" marker thingummy for the shopper behind them in a supermarket queue.
Grrrr.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I held this door open to help this guy carrying a box through and the guy passed by without even a nod of thanks. People just don't have manners.
*sigh*
While we are on the subject of courtesy, My pet peeve is people who don't use their turn signal.
They are the scum of the earth.
Hmmmm as far as making this post movie related.....
I also cannot stand people who talk about the endings of movies as they leave the theatre, I had a movie spoiled for me a couple days ago thanks to this evil old lady.

After opening her door for her, not only did she not unlock my door, she noted that my POS car doesn't have power locks.

You know ever since I saw that movie, its always in the back of my mind when I open the car door for a girl. In this day and age with power locks, they open automatically, but still, I do always think about that :)

I always try to do that. I always did that for my boyfriend until I realized that he'll never open the door for me so.. fuck him. I hate and I mean hate when people will open the driver's door, get in the fucking car, and put on their seatbelt belt or start the car before letting your ass in. I hate those assholes. My mom used to do that to me all the time. But she's not an asshole.:D
I always passed the Door Test even before I saw Bronx Tale. Great movie.

you guys really dump a chick for not passing the "back door test"??? I don't know too many of us that really like that ( I do) but most girls and guys (my boyfriend included) do not like going there.
I can see the other tests....that is just common curtesy

Yes, I always do as a rule of courtesy.
Cool thing though, one time I opened a car door for a girl, and she unlocked my door, and started a conversation about A Bronx Tale.
I was in a relationship already, though, so it didn't mean much more than we'd seen the same movie.
