Further Details
Those good folks over at News Askew have posted some early details on the upcoming Jersey Girl disc. This brand new Kevin Smith film will arrive in US cinemas at the end of this month, but is already being planned for a release on DVD this coming October. The details are still obviously quite sketchy, although Kevin Smith states that the disc will include a two hours plus director's cut of the movie, a commentary with himself and Ben Affleck (and possibly more) as well as each and every deleted and alternate scene. Naturally, we'll bring you more details on this one as soon as we get them. Stay tuned.

Yeah, and put William Shatner on there, too. They had about the same level of involvement in the movie.

I'm not surprised by this news, VA discs are always loaded. However, I don't like the sound of that "Director's Cut". That means he had to edit some stuff out to get a PG-13, and I don't like that kind of talk.

So, I'm not going to be seeing the real version until it hits DVD? Why even bother seeing it in theaters?? I hate when they pull this crap! Making an R-rated or full cut, dumbing it down in theaters for extra $$$, then releasing the official version on DVD... I'm usually not bothered by this, but the fact all this is revealed before the movie comes out... I'll still see the movie nonetheless. I think it looks good, and that it could be a good movie to revive underrated actor, Ben Affleck, who I think people bash too much.

meh, I'm completely indifferent about this flick. I've enjoyed all of Smith's previous films, but this to me just likes your typical Hollywood romantic comedy. If you guys dig it, I'll go, otherwise, it's a definite rental.
