Favorite movie: this is Spinal Tap????

Ok, I opened up a topic the other day (best/worse) and I put spinal Tap as one of the worst movies. Now someone told me that it was great because of dialoge. so I watched it again and I still didn't find it that great. If anybody can give me one GOOD example of good dialoge they can post it up here becaue i couldn't find any.

I'm with you, Clown. I rented it a couple months ago cause it was supposed to be this hilarious classic. I think I watched the first first 30 mins or so...then I hit eject. Different strokes I guess.

I absolutely LOVE this movie. And it's not just the dialogue that makes it work. It's the deadpan delivery by all the actors of it. It's perfect. It's like old-style comedy, not slapstick or gross out humor which most comedies today rely on. Clown, you wanted a certain scene as an example and my pick would be the scene where the band meets another rock star (Duke Fame) and then question their manager about why their album cover was banned and his wasn't. That entire scene is BRILLIANTLY done to comic perfection. As is the rest of the movie.

That's my take on it.


Also, don't forget, when this movie first came out heavy metal was at it's peak and this was pretty much a straight-forward parody of the entire scene. So maybe some people who weren't around then or weren't into that kind of music might not be able to appreciate it as much.

I didn't like it either...there was a few funny parts(like when the guy was talking about the amps going up to 11, and them talking about their drummers) but mostly I thought it was dissapointing. 6.5/10

Thank You President and Pennywise. Loner, Metal doesn't have anything to do with me disliking he movie. I myself am a huge metal fan yes even 70's and 80's were ok to but this movie just wasn't anything special.
