Well there are ones about fishing and bowling so I figured this might go. It's getting to be that time of year, any golfers out there? I guess I can't call myself a golfer, I would be considered an activity loosely resembling golf activist. 'Cause I'm REALLY bad.
But what better way to spend an afternoon than riding around on a motorized cart, drinking beer, and enjoying the sunshine and friends.
The great thing about living where I do, every small town no matter what the population pretty much has a golf course. There is no lack of real estate, they just clear out some land and build them between corn fields... seriously. So I play quite a few different courses. My main one though is a city owned 18 hole course in the town that I live in. It is pretty nice actually because it's owned by the city and the upkeep is professional and well done. And yes there is even a "country club" here in town. Picture Judge Smails and Caddyshack, that is what it is like I think.:) Even if I had the money I wouldn't join. A friend of mine owns a little par 30 course that is kind of fun to go out and mess around on too.
What about you good people? What do you shoot? What is your course like? Any interesting stories? Why am I asking so many questions?
Oooh that reminds me of a good story. A friend of mine hit one that he scolded along the ground and actually killed a gopher who had stuck his head up out of his hole. It was hilarious!:D We just saw something fly up in the air about a 100 yards out and didn't know what it was. We walked up on it and low and behold it was a gopher with a cracked skull.
Well I'll quit rambling now and let anyone else chime in who wants to.
