Michael Jackson to address Black Caucus



"WASHINGTON, March 25 (UPI) -- Pop star Michael Jackson plans to visit Washington next week to share his views on world affairs with with members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Jackson, who was recently indicted on child molestation charges, requested the meeting with the 38-member group to discuss his humanitarian efforts including his work to help Africa fight its AIDS epidemic, the Roll Call newspaper reported Thursday.

Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., whom the paper identifies as "a proponent of the visit," says Jackson should be welcomed by the members of the CBC.

"It is good we show our support to Michael Jackson," Clay said. "He gives so much of himself monetarily and through his talent."

Jackson has reportedly backed CBC efforts for many years. He has pleaded innocent to seven counts of committing lewd or lascivious acts upon a child under age 14, and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent to the child."



I'm sorry but I just thought this was funny. Jackson has never been involved in politics and in the last few years he seems to be trying to tap into the Black community for his own agenda. I guess whatever works.

I think it would hurt them to let him speak. Why should they spend their political capital on him? He bleached his skin, he married two white women and had three white children and almost all ofhis friends and business partners are white. He has not been a great champion for Black casues and it doens't seem like he has been reaching back to help the Black community.

If he has donated money then money has been like nothing to him. I'd like to know how much of his multi-millions he has donated and how much of what he has donated has actually been other people's money that he has raised through proceeds from "we are the world" type songs which just really help promote him. This guy is a pathological user :mad:

That's right on the money. However, Lynn forgot to add that he molests white kids too. Apparently he's picky in every facet of his life.

I heard today that the black caucus did refuse to meet with him for sure. I also heard that Quicy Jones is doing another one of those fund raising "We are the World" type songs and he is not letting Michael be involved even though Micahel has begged and tried to remind Quincy about their long relationship. I heard that on TV but it was presented as gossip- haven't seen it in print yet.
