Former "Baywatch" actor Michael Bergin, who says he had an affair with John F. Kennedy Jr.'s wife less than a year after she was married, discussed their relationship in a book, "The Other Man," and on the A&E Network.

Bergin, a longtime friend of Carolyn Bessette's, said his affair with Bessette as a married woman began in Los Angeles in 1997, when she spent 11 days with him after saying Kennedy was on a kayaking trip with his friends.

"It just seemed like it was old times," he said. "Like ... we were together again. It was very surreal."

Bergin was living in Hawaii in July 1999, when Kennedy and Bessette were killed in a plane crash off the coast of Martha's Vineyard.

"I never really got a chance to say goodbye," he said. "Oh, God. I just, uh, I blocked so much of it out of me, for all these years and it's just, I think I'm reliving it right now."

The interview airs Monday night on A&E.

If I remember right, Jackie Kennedy approved of this girl and didnt approve of DArryl Hannah. i wonder what she saw in her? Everyone always said this girl was so beautiful but she must not have been photogenic cause her beauty was never apparent to me. He was gorgeous though.

Michael Bergin isn't doing himself any favors by exposing this is he? He sounds like a creep. And she couldn't have loved JFK Jr very much- she must have just wanted his prestige.

Saw parts f this interview. Wow- he didn't hold anythng back. and did I hear him say she (Carolyn) would be glad that he is telling all the good things about her- like the two abortions she had- I'm sure she would be thrilled. And while he was going with her she was cheating with John Jr on him but when John came by the house one day she asked him (Michael) to sneak down 10 flights of stairs so Kennedy wouldn't see him. The interviewer asks him if that was humiliating and he kind of downplays it. Are these people for real??? I guess they all desreved each other.

Let me guess- they savaged him right? I have seen them absolutely rip the throats of people they do not agree with or someone like this who has written a tell all- especially Star Jones. It can get creepy casue the way they gang up on someone is uncomfortable to watch.

I don't think they're on the best of terms- it seems likely that it was probably the mafia that orchestrated the deaths of President John and Seantor Bobby Kennedy since they thought they had both betrayed them. The family has been seriously screwed up since forever- it seemed like young John was going to half way normal but it seems like he had a death wish in the crazy way he lived his life- this also seems to have had an effect on the kind of woman he chose to marry. Caroline seems OK though.
