Theres now an online petition for George Romero to make his 4th Dead/zombie film. We all remember Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead. George handpicked F/X master Tom Savini to direct the Night remake in 1990. The time is now here for the 4th Dead film.

Romeros new zombie film petition! (http://www.petitiononline.com/dotd2005/petition.html)

Just signed it myself. I think everyone who's a "Dead" fan should sign this. Especially if it's going to help Romero decide to do the 4th installment.

'Nuff said. L8rs all.

Try petitioning the studios to give the man some backing, instead. Romero wants to make the 4th Dead film and has already written the script. He's just waiting to someone to give him the funds to do so.

maybe now due to the success of the new DAWN OF THE DEAD reaching top of the movie charts the studios might now think twice about backing him ...
its in there intrest as i can see no way they will lose out on there cash

Who ever is responsible for starting this petition I would like to say sincerely, Thank You!!! I have always believed that there is strength in numbers. All it takes is for all of us to finally come together on something that we all agree on people. In every revolution there is one man with a vision! the only way anyone in this world will ever take you seriously, is if you stand up and be counted for what you believe in. And for those who love what Mr. George A. Romero has given us, I wish to say this. To truly appriciate someone who has done so much to change the face of any art form, is to give something back of yourself! It's time for all of us to stand side by side and let the studio sytem know,as fans of this great genre what we as the audience want to see! This is something that I am very passionate about!
you have a voice...let it be heard!!

The Dead walk! I am number 17 on the list!!!!:)

See that! He even mentions it a few times on the Day of the Dead and Dawn of the Dead DVD's, commentary and interviews. He wants to do it but to restate what RogueSpear said, it's the studios we need to harras not so much as Romero.

my friend bill hinziman and i got this going.
Somebody, somewhere, somehow that has anything to do with anything to help this film get going will see this petition. I was one of the first to sign the online petetion to get Return of the Living Dead released on DVD and that worked! So this is our small way of letting whoever needs to know that we WANT the next dead film!

But my two cents are in.

Has an online petition ever worked?

The anti-Dawn thing didn't seem to do piddle-shits.

I think the last petition online I signed was to bring back crystal pepsi.

I tried signing, but it was taking forever to load. This petition won't leave a dent in the film industry anyway. These things rarely prompt studios to snap out of it, and when they do, it usually takes thousands upon thousands of signatures.

schmoes, i swear to you all, the online petetion to bring Return of the Living Dead to home release on DVD actually WORKED! It took about a year, but MGM did notice it and because of the petition, they released it on DVD. Dont be so absolutely positive it wont work, just sign anyways. If it doesnt work, then at least we tried:D

Yes I agree that these things will work, but so far there has only been a few sigantures :(. I think we need to expand greatly, maybe advertise this on other horror movie sites as well.

we actually started this on another horror site..but thats the idea
go to any and every site and tell about it. Remember this pettion is like, a week old or something. It might take a while but many will sign:D

Thats the spirit SixStrangSmoker...It's great to see what It means for all of us to witness the final chapter of Romero's trilogy! The demand for this has gone on long enough, George deserves his DAY in the sun. Remember everybody the man isnt getting any younger! After checking out his commentary on the new Dawn of the Dead DVD. I couldnt help to feel for this man and how genuine he truly is, all he wants to do is finish what he started. Enough of the rip offs and remakes, and if you really want to hear some interesting comments regarding that kind of stuff. Listen to what Dan O Bannon says on the supplement DVD disc of "Dead and Buried" regarding the domain created by Romero. Talk about real respect for a fellow creator, George created this world of the living dead. There was never anything like NOTLD before in cinema history! I have read the synopsis for this one and it could go on to be the greatest DEAD epic yet!! SixStrang is right, dont give up and take an ass woopn' without putting up one HELL of a fight! Let the Dead Reckoning roll!
I am already spreading the word to my fellow ghouls and gals.

Sometimes online polls work and sometimes they fail. I was one of the people who signed the stop the Dawn remake thread. Isn't it funny how studios would rather give us a film we don't want but not give us a film we'd actually really want?

I think because horror movie schmoes is a minority. The mainstream audiences could care less if an art was being remade into nothingness. They just want to get scared and get laid. I do too, but I also want some art. Its a shame.

i personally think that a petetion to get a movie made or released is WAY different than a petetion to keep a movie from being made.
The decision was already made to keep going on the Dawn remake, millions were invested, people hired , etc.
too much shit in action for a petition to stop.

but dont give up
we must make this petetion spread like a sexually transmitted disease...no one you come in contact with should be safe from its wrath!

I don't think of this petition as herassing Romero. More of showing him our support and that there are legions of loyal "dead" fans wanting and patiently waiting the 4th in the series. He's got my support full-heartedly. And hell, if they guy asked for donations. I'd send him whatever I could. I think that'd be a great way to go. If you donate, maybe he could cast you as an extra zombie in the film?! Who knows, just an idea.

I signed it. hope it helped. It needs to be sent to some studios. we all know Romero wants to do this movie, he just has no dough to do it.

tell your friends to sign this. the more the merrier!

Go to www.georgeromero.com to see updated news on where two of his projects, Dead Reckoning and Diamond Dead, stand. There has been a ton of news on the net recently, some of it straight from Romero's mouth, that seems to say that both of these films stand a good chance of being made.

I thought that the 4th Dead film was happening? Ridley Scott is producing. I'd say there's a good chance it's happening.

According to his official site and much internet rumoring, Mr. Romero currently has two productions on "high boil" - one being Diamond Dead, a horror/comedy about a zombie rock band, which would be produced by the Scott brothers, the other being Dead Reckoning, the fourth film in his zombie Dead series. Reportedly, both are very close to receiving the funding necessary to get them off the ground. Hopefully, that clears up any confusion.

A question:

It begs asking, so I will ask it; HOW IN THE F**** DOES A MAN WHO GAVE BIRTH TO THE MODERN HORROR FRANCHISE, SET THE TREND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS TO COME, AND POETICALLY DEFINE THE ZOMBIE MYTHOLOGY FOR ALL OF HORROR CULTURE, NOT GET THE BACKING OF ANYONE?

My head is spinning. This man cannot get the fucking time of day. Meanwhile, Halle Barry soon gets to rape the summer audiences.

I predict that Catwoman will bomb almost as bad as 'The Alamo'.
But yes it is a very disturbing fact that Romero cannot catch a break to save his life.
