I love the Mick. What's your favorite Mick flick. I'd have to go with Barfly or Out in Fifty.

Right on "Brock". Along with those you listed I also enjoy Rourke in:

Micheal Cimino's Year of The Dragon
Vincent Gallo's Buffalo 66
Steve Buscemi's Animal Factory
White Sands
Wild Orchid.

Good call on those flicks Deckard, in fact you reminded me of some other great flicks with Rourke...

- "Get Carter"
- "Rumble Fish"
- "Diner"
- "Heaven's Gate"
- "Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man"

Not all masterpieces, but vintage Rourke nonetheless...

Rourke really did a stretch in Animal Factory. He's hardly recognizable, but as always THE MICK!

Have you seen him in the BMWFilms.com flick: "The Follow?" He only has one scene, but he still gets his presence accross.

I liked him in Bullet too. He played a badass.

Mickey Rourke...damn, I realy like this guy.
He first impressed me in "Pope of Greenwich Village". His Charlie Moran was dead on, a terrific job, and a great, underrated flick.
The pathos he emoted, as he struggled to find his answers...only to be constantly derailed by Paulie(an EXCELLENT Eric Roberts), was brilliant.
His turn as Henry Czesnowski in "Barfly" was genius. As I watched it, I couldn't help but feel that I was actually seeing Charles Bukowski(who wrote the story, and who Henry is based on). Damn fine job.
"Year of the Dragon"...a fucking kick-ass turn as Stan White. This was a flick that might not get made today(political correctness and all), a biting screenplay by Oliver Stone, deftly spewed by Rourke.
"Angel Heart"...sparkling thesp in this as well.
The epitome of the lowbrow film-noir dicks of years gone by, with a "devilish" kick thrown in.And, in a precursor to "9 1/2 Weeks" and "Wild Orchid", he really stuck it to sweet little Lisa Bonet...go Mick!
Side note:
Part of "9 1/2 Weeks" was filmed in my neighborhood, right on 10th Avenue. Now, I was not old enough to hang in the bars at that time, but, according to those who did, Rourke was apparently very congenial with the locals...drinking in the watering holes and socializing.
The guy is a LEGITIMATE bad-ass, not a paper tiger, like so many other Hollywood "tough guys" who only garnered their reputation from scripts, not actual life experiences.
The coolest thing about Rourke? He doesn't give a shit what you or I think of him.

Anyone seen Out In Fifty, Mick is totally burnt in that flick. This post was more or less just to talk about Mick flicks not necessarily having anything to do with best/worst/favorite, but what ever.

My vote is for BARFLY. It's the only movie w/ him in it that I actually can accept him as a serious actor. Sorry but his body of work doesnt speak too well for him. /ubb/frown.gif

Mick and Johnny Depp are in a flick coming out soon. Directed by Robert Rodriguez, its like the 3rd installment in the El Mariachi series. Should be cool!

Agreeing with wyodebbie. Angel Heart it is. It's a beautiful film, and Mickey Rourke just perfect for the role. Lisa Bonet made a very memorable performance as well.
