I love SEASON OF THE WITCH. A good little horror flick, with some nice ideas, and geuinely intense moments. Big up to CARPENTER and HILL for having the balls to try something different.

Anyway, I think they should carry the franchise on, but only if someone is going to try and rescue it! RESURRECTION was cool and everything, but let's face it: it's not a good movie, and puts the original to shame.

We need a real master to get this series back on track - it's possible....I think.

Impossible I think, the franchise died on its exploititive arse way back in 1981.

Once the late great Donald Pleasence had passed away, It was a death scentence for the Halloween franchise. This argument for more Halloween films, will probably go on forever. As long as it has this kind of fan base it will never DIE! The original Halloween will always be considered one of John Carpenters best films. The guy responsible for keeping the franchise going of course is Moustapha Akkad. Im sure he will respond to the demands of the fans who cant seem to let go. For the record Im not knocking Halloween fans because I happen to be one of them, but it really is time to let series like Mr.Pleasence go with dignity. He created a memorable character in doctor Sam Loomis. Ressurection was awful, it just didnt feel like a Halloween movie at all imho.
Dont tarnish the legacy he leaves behind!

But Halloween 9 is more than likely!

I think they should make a 'Halloween 9.' Only if they can go back to old school themes and roots. No more of this internet crap, or rappers/models playing the starring roles. Its time to have some tight direction, the good old score, develop some kind of new plot, and hire some no names, or atleast some good well knowned actors. Kinda like 'Halloween 4' They need to look at that for an example.

I do think Halloween 9 should be made. Now, the only reason I say this is to regain that closure that H20 brought to the table. Resurrection totally messed that up...so I just want the series to end well. Then, Akkad can develop some other new series to make sequel after sequel in.

Fuck the haters! Halloween 9 should be made...

I think they've done all they could with it. They keep screwing it up with each installment

I think they should make Michael Myers scary again. Show him less, have an expressionless mask like in the first two, make him walk slowly, play the theme when he's stalking or killing someone.

If it stays along the same plot line as 4,5 and 6: YES, if it follows H20 and Resurrection: NO, Just my opinion. :D

i dont think they should make any more Halloween films, they're all crap after part 3 and very repetetive and boring

No, I don't think they should make H9. It should have ended by H:H20, which would be a great ending movie for this series. That's my opinion.

But of course, if it would be made, I'll watch it.

Here's my opinion: I don't want the legacy of The Shape to end with such a mediocre film as Resurrection; Michael should go out with a bang, perhaps--though this almost certainly won't happen--in a confrontation with a certain goalie... ;)

When you say bang, do you mean Jason and Michael discover they're gay and decide to get married?

I'm kidding of course, but that ending would have come out of nowhere.

NO!

They have done everything they can do with the series. The only way to have another (good) Halloween movie is to have Jason VS Michael.

Let the franchise die FOR GOOD. I mean quality wise, it's already dead anyways. Why make us fans of the series more bitter then we already are? ( I enjoy the ol' school shit way more)

I concur, Zeptron. At least ONE more quality movie, like H1 and 2 and 4, should be made before the definitive demise of the Myers bloodline. And put Carpenter back in command!!

That would be great, but I don't think he wants to.

If I were him, I'd jump at the chance to bring Michael back to his glory days.. To each his own, I guess.. :(

As far as I'm aware, it's a go-ahead, if a little on the slow-track. I'm predicting it will be a run-of-the-mill stalk-and-slash affair that ignores every sequel before it (though IMO parts 5 and 6 deserve to be ignored). It will feature actors lifted from The OC, North Shore and One Tree Hill, and star rapper Chingy in the lead.

And - God help me - I'll still see it.

Akad once said he wants to do 21 Halloween films so I guess were gonna be seeing ole Mike for a quite a while.

Hopefully they move in a different direction. Maybe they should disregard H20 and Resurrection and pick up where 6 left off.

The last 2 weren't that great at all.

H20 wasn't THAT bad but Resurrection was atrocious in every way. As far as making a 9th sequel...only if they can actually get it right this time and go back to the true Halloween roots with the thorn symbol and all of that other fun stuff. I personally like Michael having a reason for his spree and the thorn/druid factor really played out nicely.

If they want to expand on Resurrection the I think John Carpenter needs to come back and end the series once and for all.

I think Carpenter coming back to do a sequel is very unlikely but it would be a good way to finisjh the franchise, like Craven tried with The New Nightmare (didnt stop another sequel).

But other than that keep making them the storys well tired now but hey its still better than watching a Julia Roberts movie!!!!

make him have a consious. let's end it with a bang and connect all the storie lines. he takes care of stephen and is nice and stuff only to him. bring in jhon tate and loomis's son. end with a bang and let mike carry on the thorn to stephen who kills people then gets shot in the head and head ripped off by an unlnown 6 year old and let the franchise die for good

They need to undo Laurie's death and wrap the series up for good.

And then, they need to film my script for Halloween 9, which is a sequel to Season of the Witch.

;)

I wonder how many fans would still want Carpenter back to end the series if he actually did it with the idea that he (I think jokingly) stated years ago. With Michael going into space. FRIDAY the 13th can get away with that cause it's obviously the "dumber" of the series but I think we expect better from Halloween. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I actually don't want Carpenter to come back to the franchise...sound a bit cruel since he invented it,but don't think he has the same feel and way of movie-making...he still rocks just has changed alot I think.

Here is what I think:

They should do 1 more film. But just one more. And they should bring Jaime Lee Curtis back. Yes, I know she "died" in the last film, but I personally think that if she got medical help soon enough, it's not entirely possible for her to have survived her stabbing/fall.

And maybe in the begining of the movie he comes after John (Josh Hartnett's character) and then somehow Michael finds out his sister is alive and goes after her and the movie ends with a final showdown between brother and sister and have BOTH of them die, make it so they are BOTH CLEARLY dead. A MAJOR explosion. So big, that they can't make some excuse like they did in Halloween 4. I mean, it's complete bs that both Michael and Dr. Loomis survived the explosion at the end of Halloween 2. So make this explosion so big so they are both CLEARLY dead.

And that's how the franchise should end. No more family members alive anymore, including Meyers himself.

they need to make a halloween 9. because if you are a true horror movie fan you will go see it because its a horror movie. It wouldent matter if they made 50 halloweens they all would be good in they own way. its horror thats all, and thats why we are all here to talk about horror movies. even if they suck people would still talk about them and how bad they were.

i don't know about all of that...they've only made 9 entries and 3 of them are really fucking bad. So 50 may not have that perfect of a ratio.

I think they should make a sequel to Halloween if they could go the H6 way,and bring back characters from the other films, and tie up all the loose ends.(As in Tommy Doyle,Lindsay from H1,Josh Hartnett even though he doesn't want to reprise his role,Kara Strode, and Jamie's child.)However,I know this won't happen b/c of H7 & 8 ,and the remake.
