Yeah--that trailer was far better than even the boot trailer that was floating around the net.
I thought THAt one was amazing. THIS one blew the doors of any other movie I've wanted to see this year.
And it was only two and a half minutes---of a probable 114/120 mins.
TOP SHELF.
Sweet. The official teaser has the car through the window. The boot had spidey and ock on the subway. AND this one just had EVERYTHING. I can't wait till you can see that badboy in FS quicktime.

Yeah, it was definitely kick-ass. And I already see it going at least in my top five trailers of 2004. I especially liked the whole black screen flashing sequences and the background music at the end. The whole "now let's see who's behind the mask" scene was cool too.

Very, very cool.
I can't even begin to imagine how much fun it'll be to watch in a crowded theater with some friends.
Looks like there's gonna be some deeper character development. Can't wait.

as i said in the other thread, the trailer was awesome, but almost felt like watching the whole movie. The visuals were amazing and stuff, don't get me wrong, but it just seems like some parts could be cut out, and too much information was given. I'm seein it neways! too back i leave for Basic Military Training the DAY BEFORE! Do'h!

Once in a while, a great trailer for a great movie comes along and knocks all our socks off. Remember April 8th 2004, ladies and gentlemen...*sniffles* :D
Seriously though, this trailer is great. I loved the way the first part of the trailer was all about the development of Peter's character and that of the characters close to him. It's brilliant that they've put so much emphasis on Harry's homicidal urges towards Spider-Man :D
And then we get the second half of the trailer...pure brilliance. The action in this movie will rock. I lmao for some reason when the building was on fire and Peter was like "Oh, shit" cos he hasn't got his costume. But if the movie is anything like the trailer then it will be the best superhero movie since...the first Spider-Man movie...lol

Just saw the trailer and I must say im very impressed. I liked the first one but didn 't love it but It looks like I might love this one. This one just moved up one spot replacing Shrex 2 on my top 10 most anticipated of 2004. I do agree they gave away to much information though. But Ill be there opening day or Friday for sure.

It looked ok until they showed the fx work which is really poor. I'll see this at the local cheap theater. You think by now they would find a way to make Spiderman look real. Doc Oc looks pretty damn good though.

The CGI is pretty good. Its not the BEST, but it looks pretty damn good. (A couple of em i dont like either, liek the window thing where he sprawls out, but most of the non-swingining ones look pretty good, like when he carries MJ up the building. ) ( BTW, all the swinging ones are different because they are intentionally blurred, thats why they were excluded, but theyre still great too. )

Best trailer of the year, hands down.
CGI looks amazing. Directing looks amazing. Script sounds amazing. Acting looks terrific. And best of all, this feels like a Spider-Man comic book -- if possible, even more so than the first movie.
I can't wait.

I've downloaded the trailer yesterday and it blew me from Clevland to Toronto to Africa and back. Intense and exciting are the only words I can describe the Spidey trailer. Other than that, I was left speechless. WOW!!!
I can't wait of the movie, I guarantee you, this will blow away EVERY movie in 2004, INCLUDING that certian Mel Gibson-directed flick.

it's amazing the difference in marketing between a major studio and an "indie" studio like miramax... The put out a trailer like that 3 months before the movie... Miramax puts out a trailer 2 WEEKS before a movie...
man, what a way to get people revved for this movie. THAT is how it's done. GO SONY!.

I wasn't really anticipating this film that much. in fact, I was more stoked to see Hellboy, (very good), Harry Potter 3, Shrek 2, Troy, and maybe even Van Helsing, but now I think Spidey is sitting on top of my "To See" list. Great trailer, but I think it was a little too revealing.

Man, I wish I responded as well to this trailer as you guys did.
Am I the only one who thinks the plot looks exactly like the plot of SUPERMAN II? He gives up his powers for his girlfriend, then a new villain shows up so the hero has to choose between his girl and saving the world? That doesn't mean it won't be good, but in my case it feels a little too familiar.
Also, am I the only one tired of seeing a super-villain being created the same way? The whole, "scientist has a mishap in the lab" thing? We saw it in the first SPIDERMAN, saw it twice in THE HULK, and appear to be seeing it yet again in SPIDERMAN 2.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to bash it... I honestly wished I loved it as much as you guys. On the positive side, I think the new bad guy looks better / meaner than the Green Goblin.
I'll still go see it. Maybe I'm being too picky.

I think its going to kick the first ones ass! It just...oozes more confidence then the first one, and the dialouge seems much better.
The first one was decent fun but this looks to do to it what X2 did for the original X-Men.

Its funny most superheros are either a photographer, scientist, or lawyer, youd think the villans would be smart enough to bomb the Daily Planet or something.
But Im really stoked to see this now.

I dont think it will be Peter, but if it is then we will probably see The Green Goblin again in the next movie, which is lame I think when theres plenty of better villans to bring to life on the big screen (Venom, Carnage, Shocker, Lizard, Rhyno)
I would like to see this movie end with one thing: a very open ending, id like to see Eddie Brock show up at the end and scream Parker and then turn into Venom.

It WILL be Peter. Harry won't believe it. He'll get into an argument with Octopus about how it was cruel to do this to his friend.
OR
Harry will find out Peter is Spiderman, but won't kill him because he'll be stunned by the fact that it is Peter. Then something will interupt them and Spiderman will escape or something.

The visuals are no doubt a huge improvement over the original , but nothing exactly superior to any other recent CGI fests with fantastical action sequences , honestly , i think they look pretty underwhelming and average in comparison to some other recent films visuals .
Also , the weakest aspects of the original are in evidence again , the cheesy ass love story ( amplified in this one , oh god ) , the prozac inspired acting of Franco , the stoned looking Dunst , the goofy narrative instead of the epic feel that they should have utilized , and a piss poor choice as a villian ( Dafoe was laughable in 1 and Molina looks to be even worse in part 2 , what a terrible choice for this part , just terrible ) .
I don't know , the little plot about Parker giving up crimefighting because he's feeling frustrated , underappreciated , and disillusioned kinda reminds me of a combo of Supe 2 and 3 and Batman Forever . In those two Supe films he gives up trying to save people for awhile ( for love in 2 , because his darkside took over in 3 . In Batman it was because he fell in love and was feeling like he wasn't making enough of a difference anymore ) . And , yes it's all a setup for when Parker decides to go back in Superhero mode and accept the responsibility of possesing great power , yeyyy , i can hear the crowd screaming now , what a cheap ass narrative device if i ever saw one , people will eat it up .
Oh well , at least this one should be a bit better than the original , but that's not saying much , that one ripped off a bunch of other films , it was allright , but nowhere close to how good it should have been , it won't be hard to beat it in terms of quality .

Yeah , i know it seems like i'll hate it , but i have no doubt it will be better than 95 percent of the other Marvel comic book film adaptations , i just hate when they miscast the villian , it can really ruin a film , and Molina is one of the worst choices ever as a villiain , in my opinion .
No matter , it's going to be great seeing that cool ass cgi creation swinging freely through the overpriced , overrated , majestic , carvernous halls of the Manhattan skyline . And they really did film it in Manhattan , that's a plus . At least most of it .
I'm curious to see if it becomes the phenomenom that the first one did . If it does , i can understand this time around , this one really does look way better than the first .
Yeah , i'll be one of the first in line , don't worry about that :) .

I can't really understand why Spider Man was that sucessful. It's a good movie, but that's it. Not that good, really. I'm sick of Spider Man 2 talk and the movie is not even released.... I will be skipping this one in theatres, and I'm pretty sure it won't be as sucessful as the first one, it just screams "more of the same".

I believe people wouldn't have appreciated it as much if it weren't for the whole hero thing. After 9/11 we all needed an american hero, someone to save the day, we got tired of the destruction on the news etc. So the success was partly due to that. But i agree with you. Its a good movie, just not as good as what people make it out to be.

I think certain aspects def look like an improvement , The villian is way better ( even though i don't care for the guy playing him ) and much more menacing , the action looks terrific ( only brief uninspired action sequences in the first ) , and i like the whole who is spiderman angle that develops between his friend and the doc oc dude , even if it is derivative of the Batman films .
It would be a shame if this didn't do as well as the first , because it looks like the superior film , and you could be right , patriotism probably played a big part in the first one's success , at least in the States , but that doesn't explain it's amazing overseas success . Although the whole patritism thing has died down a bit , i still feel people want to see a " hero " in action , that never goes out of style . And although i feel the first was nothing spectacular , i did like the message of responsabilty and defending the innocent , those are timeless , and honorable human qualities , at it's core that's what the Spiderman mystique and the films are about ( same as Batman and Supe ) .
But it doesn't hurt that the action sequences and the visuals look terrific , so far , some of the best i've seen , although i have to admit , some scenes in the trailer lead me to believe some of the CGI spiderman's movements look even more obvious in this than in the first , it really stands out , and that's not good . Still think it will be great though , if they could only downplay that pesky love triangle subplot , i would be more than happy :) .
