In the comic book, Harry takes over the Green Goblin identity. I doubt they are going for that angle,....yet.

I think that kid in the trailer who has a split secod thing where he says, "Who takes the photos of Spider-Man?" and then to Peter, "Where is he?" will have found the costume that Peter threw away.

Does something like this happen in the comics, with Peter throwing his costume away and someone finding it?

I know that after a first fight with doc ock ends unfavorably (Spidey gets thrown out the window, i think) he decides to stop being spider-man, but I don't know if he throws the costume out

He throws the costume out but Im betting that Harry unmasks Peter. I cant wait for this movie nor that scene.

i guess you're right because i remember a line from the trailer that peter says like: "There are bigger things happening here then me and you" that i'm pretty sure he says to Harry, after the unmask.

besides, the kid who ask about the pictures looks like 12 years old at the most and about have thesize of peter, not fitting on the costume.

but that's just my 2 cents.

I read the book. If you dont want the movie ruined then dont read. Harry finds out, and MJ finds out in an awesome way I might add.The first fight with Doc Ock kicked ass. It happened on the side of a bank if im not mistaken. The costume is found by a bum a brought to Jameson for a "gift"

im planning on reading the book, but i won't put much stock in the ending of it.

the x2 novelization had a different ending than the movie, no?

There are really THREE possibilites.

Harry unmasks Peter, doesnt believe its him. Gets angry with Ock for 'lying' to him. (Spideys been unmasked countless times in the comic,but no one ever believes the nerdy PP really is Spiderman.) Think Clark Kent/Superman.

2. He believes its him. But Peter has to stop Ock anyway, in the final fight.

3. The scene at the end of the trailer is the last scene in the movie.

Very good possibilites, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it as the final scene in the movie. However, I don't expect Ock to be around in the final frame. Hmmm....

i got the spider-man 2 novel.

and now im watching oprah.

again most of the talk was about the lead actor's body.


heh, i had to leave when dunst came out to go pick up my sister.

i decided to give mary jane another chance, because i realize that maybe she'll come off smarter now that she's not with flash and the gang of numskulls.

One thing I really hope doesnt happen is that they go on with some of the comic book storylines, for example I dont want Harry to become Green Goblin just yet. Theres too many villans out there that deserves to take a crack at Pete.

Id like Mary Jane to find out about Pete but I dont want Harry to.

You know, there is another possibility. In the trailer Spidey is wrapped in something, could it be his webs?

You forget that Dock Ock and Peter Parker are good friends at the time Doc goes evil.. Maybe he cut a deal with Ock to throw Harry off. Maybe its not Peter under the mask....

maybe he somehow has a change of heart like right when the mask is pulled off, no matter if it is parker under there.

I don't think it's gonna be any huge surprise. Peter's face will show up under there, Harry will be like "I knew it", but he won't kill Peter right away. He'll just let him lie there. This will be how MJ finds out that Peter = Spidey (if she does) because she'll come over to his house (if he's still her b/f, I don't remember much of what happened with them) and see him. Then we get the mandatory dialogue...

Eh, anyway.

I figure this much -- we see Peter throw away his costume in the trailer. He's not going to find it in the same place he left it, that just doesn't happen. Unless of course, he turns around in that same scene, seconds later, and picks it back up. Were he even remotely serious about destroying his alter-ego, he would be burning that thing anyway.

But yeah, it's definitely Peter under the mask.

just read the book also, and i couldn't put it down. flew through it in 2 hours. the ending looks great and according to the early reviews it ends in the same way.
